Member of the Senate of Pakistan Faisal Javed Khan suggested the Pakistan team management to reappoint Sarfraz Ahmed as captain in T20Is as he keeps the ability to win T20 World Cup for Pakistan.

While talking to the media on the sidelines of the second T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Khan said that Pakistan T20I team has regained its winning combination after the team management called back experienced Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez.

“See, the return of Malik and Hafeez has brought back winning combination in the team. I think only Sarfraz is left now and if he captains us in the T20 World, we can win the mega event,” he said.

Talking about the continuity of international cricket in Pakistan, the politician praised the current Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s set-up led by chairman Ehsan Mani and CEO Wasim Khan. “Khan and Mani have done a great job to keep international cricket in Pakistan, alive. Test cricket is revived in Pakistan which was a huge milestone for the cricket board. I am looking forward to watching some more action in our country” he said.

It must be noted here that Bangladesh is currently on the tour of Pakistan to play three T20Is. Pakistan has already won two of the three matches to lead the series 2-0.

who made him a senator? I haven't ever heard him make one logical argument in any political shows and he gets angry so easily.

I really wish the duo of Sarfraz and Mickey would have continued till the WT20s so that their myth would have been busted for good.

Getting removed from their positions was the best thing that could have happened to them. Our inevitable humiliation in the WT20 would give our fans an excuse and make the likes of Sarfraz and Mickey look good.

It won’t be surprising if Sarfraz makes a return as T20I captain after the WT20, even though nothing would have been different under his captaincy.

2 most stupid statements by a Senator.

Waqar and Misbah will never allow Sarfaraz to return. If one checks the language of Misbah supporters it is pretty clear the defamation campaign and personal attacks against Sarfaraz Ahmed has a motive to damage his legacy as the only captain unlike that losers Misbah, and Inzamam to win a multinational tournament, only captain to improve ranking in ODI(9 to 5) and T20( remain No#1 for 1 year ).

Even if he does well in Psl, Misbah will ignore him.

PCB mafia behind Hafeez and Malik will help reduce our chances of winning anything let alone WT20

He is absolutely finished at the top level. Keep him away.

Just look at the post above by ZamanFan. That's nothing compared to the massive pressure on Misbah from certain lobbies (politicians) and media houses to bring back Sarfrz.

We all know Sarfraz is finished, he never had the game for LOIs anyway, but the pressure keeps mounting. Hope Misbah realizes this and keeps Sarfraz away.

Don't trust Misbah. He brought back Hafeez and Malik. He will bring Sarfraz back to keep people happy and keep his job.

Lol dont take politicians seriously. They really are clueless and should stick to their own field.

Much good this will do for our current captain. Our people are our worst enemies. Agenda-based opinions fly left, right and centre in this country, whether its politicians, journalists or fans on social media.

At the end of the day what should matter is the support you should have for the Pakistan national team.

Since when did these PTI politicians think they were any sort of authority to comment on cricket? It's bad enough with the ex-cricketers but now we have these guys too. I mean these politicians themselves should stick to doing their job (which they are doing terribly atm).

This has happened a few times now. They are only polluting the discourse. Should instead tell us what they are doing for people that elected them.
