He bowled well yesterday and Morgan should have been given out. There's no point complaining about the umpires call because when it goes in our favour we like it. But to the naked eye it just looked plumb.

Just two balls before that, Banton was given out when it looked like the impact was outside off to the naked eye. And that was umpire's call too. You can't have it both ways. But I agree, umpires call is a farce.

I don’t understand the hate for Shadab, he should not be dropped.
Certain posters cannot bring them to face the fact they had been wrong about him all along, so they wait for odd bad over to malign him. He more often than not takes a wicket in his first spell, and can score at good strike rate when given opportunity, and save some boundaries with his fielding. They are probably looking for Murli or Warne, those bowlers are rarely seen in world cricket. Shadab was one of the best spinner in WC 2019. This despite him being young and Pak not playing much cricket.

Exactly in the same world cup where Rashid Khan got exposed against real teams. I'm sure Shadab would have twice as many wickets as him if he played against all those minnows too lmao.
I would just give Shadab a couple chances up the order, as I don't think he's of any use as a power hitter at #7/8. I would move him up to #5, but that won't happen until Malik decides to retire.

Shadab is a modern player. Bats , bowls, fields superb. Future captain candidate. Future of pakistan. Anybody even considering dropping him (with a t20 world cup in india of all places on the horizon) needs to have a reality check. Him, shaheen, babar, haider, naseem shah have been the positives! One thing in common, all young. Future bright if these guys keep getting chances. Lets hope misbah learns from his mistakes

But there was an ICC World Cup last year, which featured six leg-spinners.

T20 is such a game, you will get smacked once in a while. Most wickets in the series. He's clearly very talented. I just hope he plays the full QeA trophy this year (barring national duty) because that's where he will improve.

A World Cup winner leg spinner went for 45 runs in 3 overs on the same track where Babar also went for an economy of 12. Unless the other leggie was leagues above him as a bowler on the same deck, the same haters need to also demand that England look ahead of Adil Rashid

Why? We're Pakistan fans, not English. I couldn't care less whether England play Rashid or not. I also wouldn't mind if Shadab got smashed due to extraordinary batting rather than rubbish bowling, but he was bowling half trackers and getting rightfully punished.

He surely needs to improve there is no doubt about that but, everybody can see it was a tough surface for leggies by looking at the stats of Adil Rashid (3 wicketless overs for 40)who has countless times more experience and is one of the best limited overs spinners around.
That being said Pakistan definitely needs to give oppurtunities of a third spinner to be used as a backup to the current duo when they are out of form. Raza Hassan, Umer Khan, Zafar Gohar and Usama Mir can be decent options which can be tried.

Not many other limited overs leg spinners available, plus his batting is good for 15-25 runs down the order and obviously a gun fielder. Shows guts under pressure also.

I do rate him for LOs - even in this thread, last page you can read my post. But, there is a limit of everything. I am now someone into my 40s, started to follow cricket in a country where cricket was pass time for few rich kids, one main reason was for those PAK cricketers playing in late 80s, 90s. For me it’s really difficult to digest that this guy Shadab khan is sold as the best thing from PAK cricket since Wasim Akram took a 10for in his second Test - that’s 35+ years back.
I guess, you understand who is talking nonsense here.

Obviously nowhere near Akram but those comments aside I do feel he has lots of value for this team. And indeed does have talent if he chooses to decide what his role is and work hard on it.

Because Wasim Akram was performing at this age, but Waqar Younis wasn't at his true age, nor was Younis Khan. Razzaq's age was absurd, Afridi's age was a joke too - I'm really not seeing any Pakistani who performed at this age to the level that Shadab Khan does.
What makes you think that Shadab’s age is genuine by that note?

Because this is what Amir actually did in those Tests you have cited, before he was banned:
In Sri Lanka: 6 wickets in 3 Tests at 43.50
In New Zealand: 7 wickets in 3 Tests at 43.71
In Australia: 8 wickets in 2 Tests at 40.37
In England: 30 wickets in 5 Tests at 19.80
Now do you see why I stick up for Shadab Khan? People have rose-tinted memories of how other youngsters performed, while he is actually doing incredibly well for a man of his age (indeed a man of any age if you look at the thread I just started).
Amir is a frontline bowler who bowls long spells to the best batsmen in the opposing team Shadab took the wickets of Archer and Anderson in the last test he played.
This allowed him despite going wicketless in the second innings to maintain a nice average whilst having little to no impact with the ball in regards to winning the match for his team.
Age isn’t a big factor with Shadab his untapped potential isn’t really there we have seen everything we can see and he’s regressed in limited overs year by year how is he going to suddenly become a great player as he’s yet to give any hints he can be other than maybe as a batsman in tests but teams haven’t seen a lot of him.
For him to be a 40 plus averaging batsman he’ll have to improve once teams have had a proper look at him.
In that First Test at Manchester:
Yasir Shah bowled 48 overs and took 8-165
Shadab Khan bowled 11 overs and took 2-47.
Dom Bess bowled 32 overs and took 2-114
England's fourth quick bowled 28 overs and took 4-66, and their third quick bowled 25 overs and took 4-54.
it's a perfect illustration of why Pakistan should NOT be replacing their fourth quick with Yasir Shah.
This was his "best" Test of the series and he took 8-165 in 48 overs, while England's fourth quick took 4-66 in 28 overs and their third quick took 4-54 in 25 overs.
Yasir Shah keeps getting used outside Asia in a self-destructive role. He goes for too many runs per over and he wears out the three remaining quick bowlers.
I'd much rather have Shadab batting at 7 and bowling 25 overs in the match, with a fourth quick in the team.
Yasir took 11 wickets in the test series which is almost more than the combined total of the 3 quick bowlers who took 13 between them.

I'm saying that Outside Asia it's almost always a mistake to sacrifice your Fourth Quick for a Specialist Spinner.
If you have a quick-bowling all-rounder (Kallis, Flintoff, Pollock, Stokes) then you can get away with picking a Specialist Spinner, because you still get 4 quicks.
But if you don't have a Test class quick-bowling all-rounder, you'd better hope that you have a Moeen Ali or a Shadab Khan who can be your sole spinner and still have 4 quicks.
If I were India, I'd always pick Jadeja at 6 AND Pandiya at 7 in Tests Outside Asia - because then I can have my keeper and an additional 3 quicks.

But outside Asia, the only one of them that I'd touch with a bargepole would be Jadeja - plus 4 quicks.
I wonder why it is not funny when you ignore more than half of posts pointing out your bias and extreme manipulation of stats to justify your views.
Lord ..... never thought what devastating impact those two wickets have brought in the history of Test cricket. No, I am not talking about Shadab Khan, the most U22 talented PAK cricketer since Wasim Akram .... I am talking about Fawad Alam - guy averages 23.00 in SENA, better than anyone in history I can recall. PAK must pick Fawad as the 5th bowler to accompany four of their long list of fast bowlers and bowl part-time overs....
