It is. Having read about this guy, he's some type of local gangster who with a combination of scare tactics and giving out money is seen as some type of local Robin Hood figure. In a nation with law and order criminals like him and terrorists like Altaf Hussain would be in prison opening their fasts with white boiled rice and dall. Afridi is a muppet, being used by this criminal to enhance his image.

By the way , it doesn`t look good on Afridi . Uzair Baloch , Altaf Hussain , Shahi Syed , Zulfiqar Mirza and many others are mostly responsible for a lot of the mess in Sindh . He should keep his image clean .

^ that is a different issue , you can`t deny that he is the most popular cricketer in Pakistan and has a lot of influence . On one hand , he is campaigning to eradicate polio , raising funds for thalassemia patients and what not and on the other hand , he is having iftari with such controversial figures . If our people had any sense or had he been playing for another country , he would face a lot of criticism . Imagine Tendulkar doing pooja with Narendra Modi or Bal Thackeray !

Whats wrong in Tendulkar doing Puja with Modi or Thackeray ? Pakistanis should find better Indian equivalents of Osama and Mullah Omar, oh wait they dont exist at all. These two politicians have a lot of influence in their states and whenever the team goes in their state , the players get to meet them. Modi , for instance is head of Gujrat Cricket Association and is present in stadium as a chief guest distributing awards after the match . In such cases , it is acceptable for players to mingle a lil bit with politicians at their state palace even if they are controversial . Regarding Thackeray , even the likes of Michael Jackson and Miandad have met him on their visit to mumbai .

It is different to meet a state politician on official invite , than going to slum area of a third class Gunda , a nobody and eat dinner with him and show solidarity . That shows the good relation between the cricket and the Goon , a more personal visit that you want to have than a formal one you cant refuse .

I checked for a few pics for this uzair guy and in some of them he his holding a gun and posing like a bloodthirsty shooter and for the poster boy of Pakistan cricket boosting dosti yari with such a lowlife Criminal is truly shameful .

Also shows the mindset of some people in Pakistan who are hailing Afridi as if he is posing with a personality like Obama .
 
C'mon chaps he's just eating some samosa with Sardar Uzair Jan Baloch not galvanizing BLA troops with some preaching, he probably didn't went to Lyari for him as far as I know but for the peoples, and the local chotta don just invited Lala for Iftar.
 
Shame on Afridi . Why be around such terrorists , especially breaking fast with them during the holy month . Dont know the blood of how many innocents exists behind the food that afridi is eating with his good buddy . Harem key kamaie .

To be mixing with criminals and murderers like baloch is quite disgraceful from afridi but i guess to people who have followed afridis career closely this should be no surprise

Just saw Ross Kemp's extreme world Karachi episode.

Uzair Baloch essentially runs Lyari - the area next to the main port in Pakistan.

MQM and ANP and their affiliated gangs want a slice of the action.

Afridi is clearly playing the game.
 
Guys do not make any allegations against afridi which u have to defend in court!

Tbh Uzair Baloch is EASILY the lesser of the evils compared to ANP or MQM
And when Kemp went into Baloch's house, I was like :O 'palace of Liyari' lol
 
Was a great documentary by Kemp. It was sad to see a young boy, probably no more than 18 years old with a bullet stuck in his leg - and Uzair Baloch had the nerve to hail him as a 'warrior'. And the boy even hugged Baloch ! What is wrong with these people ?

You even saw women barking slogans in favour of Baloch's thugs.

Baloch and his thugs seem to be indoctrinating the community into a life of crime and gangs.
 
Just watched Kemps documentary, was really good interesting to watch, recommend it.

I agree Uzair Baluch is no saint.

But ANP and MQM are just as bad in terms of exploiting ethnic tensions in order to gain votes.

The only difference between parties like ANP and MQM on one hand and the PAC (Uzair's group) is that Uzair has no direct representation in parliament. Instead his group is affiliated with the PPP.

As bad as the MQM is in terms of extortion and crime, at least they are good administrators. They have some very competent people in their party. Apart from Clifton and Defence, the Urdu speaking areas of Karachi are the best places.

The PPP is supposed to represent the people of Lyari - Uzair Baluch's stronghold. But that party is utterly corrupt and inept.

I have heard first hand stories of party big wigs offering official positions (called khirki) for sale. They will charge 10 lakh ruppes (1m) for a khirki that can generate 10,000 ruppees a day. This generation of cash is via bribes the newly appointed office holder gets. But like all stories, that could well be conjecture.

What isn't conjecture is their governance record. Utterly abysmal. No wonter people is such poor places have to turn to thugs and gangsters like Uzair Baluch for protection.
 
These samosas and junk food is affecting his performance as our best all rounder
