Guys, just dont compare Afridi with anyone. He was able to hit any bowler out of the ground consistently. He was the perfect definition of a power hitter finisher. He had the technique and muscle to clear the ropes. He was usually able to score quick 20-30 runs without wasting time. I’ve always said this: a quick 30 is much better than a slow 60.
I dont see anyone like that in Pak team.

Too early to say, the sample size is too small for asif Ali at international level. I really hope he's not another afridi, we need someone who can bat much longer than an over! If he was similar to afridi he would be worse because he doesn't bowl, and that was pretty much the only thing keeping afridi in the team.

How can one tell who the bigger power hitter is between someone who's played 400 games and someone who just hit double digits in games.

Plus, Afridi is a proven matchwinner and he's known as one of the best power hitters of all times! Asif Ali can only clean his shoes at this stage

I don't think asif Ali will even get to play 40 odi games for pakistan. I'm pretty sure he will be dropped well before that, and probably never picked again for odis. That being said he has an opportunity to play more for pakistan in T20s, if he fails to succeed in the longer format.

Asif Ali has yet to do anything more than a quick 20.

Neither one is consistent. But Asif isn't even in the same league as Afridi.

Asif Ali is a typical T20 player who can score a good 20-30 quick runs at the end of the innings. From what I have seen him, he does not have the temperament to play long innings. In the first ODI against India after hitting a six, he still looked so fidgety at the crease and as viewer I knew he wasn't going to last long and he did not.

He was the last hope in a pack of cards for Pakistani team.

The major wild card of a player who could single handedly turn the match on its head.

Its quite true that he fired rarely and most of the times he would depart for a very low score but when he fired his IMPACT was beyond which any other cricketer had.

And he had the spin factor at least to surprise the minnow teams even if Pakistan had not batted well, he would come like a swooping eagle with accuracy and destroy the opposition.

Asif is a nobody next to Afridi.

In terms of hitting ability Afridi was well ahead of Asif especially against spinners. Who will be more effective remains to be seen. Afridi wasted his talent and ability, had he used his brain he could have averaged 30 or above and won us more matches against the top teams. Even if Asif is not as good he can apply himself to become a much more effective batsman.
