We have seen Afridi and we have seen how Asif destroy's bowlers.

WHo do you think has more strength and is a better power hitter?

WHo would you rather have if had to chose 1 for hitting sixes in the last few overs
 
please dont disrespect afridi , still remembered how he destroyed kumble many times plus when in form he was a beast against both spin and pace and here we have asif ali who hit one six per match and people see him as Viv richards.

Afridi is legend in front of this hack. He could hit spinners out of the park so easily unlike Asif who closes his eyes and goes blindly

Yet to see Asif actually destroy bowlers just a big hype.

Afridi was very inconsistent but if he fired he would win you the game. Afridi all day
 
Guys, just dont compare Afridi with anyone. He was able to hit any bowler out of the ground consistently. He was the perfect definition of a power hitter finisher. He had the technique and muscle to clear the ropes. He was usually able to score quick 20-30 runs without wasting time. I’ve always said this: a quick 30 is much better than a slow 60.
I dont see anyone like that in Pak team.

Jusy asking a question who would use prefer when optioning for power hitting
 
Comparing a guy playing 400 games with someone he is yet to play 10. Hahaha good one.

Dont mind comparisons but atleas let him play 20 games

Again. Im comparing their hitting abilities.
 
Afridi anywhere against any bowler,have never seen him getting out to a spinner the way this hack got out.
 
Too early to say, the sample size is too small for asif Ali at international level. I really hope he's not another afridi, we need someone who can bat much longer than an over! If he was similar to afridi he would be worse because he doesn't bowl, and that was pretty much the only thing keeping afridi in the team.
 
Lala all the way winning us many matches hitting it to all parts. Asif hasn't even won us one match yet. Stop insulting Lala bhai!:afridi

These comparisons are getting out of hand.

How can one tell who the bigger power hitter is between someone who's played 400 games and someone who just hit double digits in games.

Plus, Afridi is a proven matchwinner and he's known as one of the best power hitters of all times! Asif Ali can only clean his shoes at this stage
 
I don't think asif Ali will even get to play 40 odi games for pakistan. I'm pretty sure he will be dropped well before that, and probably never picked again for odis. That being said he has an opportunity to play more for pakistan in T20s, if he fails to succeed in the longer format.

Against Bhajji , 10 years ago he destroyed Indian bowling, after reaching his 100 he try to block bhajji in 10 th and got cleaned bowled it was pretty funny

I would pick Afridi, not gonna lie always had hope when he was out there, especially against India.
 
Is this a joke! Asif ali is a good hitter but not eve close to afridi. Watch the six afridi hit vs SA after they got him out with a no ball.
 
Afridi had a lot of flaws but he was a much better power hitter.

Razzaq as well.
 
Afridi has actually won Pakistan games, against top bowlers, and brought the team back from desperate situations.

Asif Ali has yet to do anything more than a quick 20.

Neither one is consistent. But Asif isn't even in the same league as Afridi.
 
Asif Ali is a typical T20 player who can score a good 20-30 quick runs at the end of the innings. From what I have seen him, he does not have the temperament to play long innings. In the first ODI against India after hitting a six, he still looked so fidgety at the crease and as viewer I knew he wasn't going to last long and he did not.
 
To come out second to Afridi in any form of comparison on any aspect of cricket is a disgrace.
 
Asif couldn't be improved as a player on other hand Afridi could be a better player if he had got some temperament.
 
Afridi was the face of Pakistan cricket.

With him thousands of people entered the stadium, and with his dismissal thousands of people left the stadium.

He was the last hope in a pack of cards for Pakistani team.

The major wild card of a player who could single handedly turn the match on its head.

Its quite true that he fired rarely and most of the times he would depart for a very low score but when he fired his IMPACT was beyond which any other cricketer had.

And he had the spin factor at least to surprise the minnow teams even if Pakistan had not batted well, he would come like a swooping eagle with accuracy and destroy the opposition.

Asif is a nobody next to Afridi.

lol Lala was class above . spinners or pacers he hit well
Asif got out to Chahal on nothing delivery his bat was somewere else and ball was somewhere
 
In terms of hitting ability Afridi was well ahead of Asif especially against spinners. Who will be more effective remains to be seen. Afridi wasted his talent and ability, had he used his brain he could have averaged 30 or above and won us more matches against the top teams. Even if Asif is not as good he can apply himself to become a much more effective batsman.

Asif isn't the best against hitting spin and doesn't have the same power as Afridi against pacers such as the ones he hit against Mclaren and Symonds.
 
They should try Asif As opener. He plays fast bowler better then Spinners.. Just give him a chance... He not suited for no. 5 or 6 position in odi side
