^ Would be interesting how many runs hes cost his team in the field in those games as well with his shoddy fitness and fielding. People clamouring for Sharjeel to replace Fakhar are being ridiculous. Atleast Fakhar is a safe fielder. He may need replacing in T20Is for sure but Sharjeel will never be the answer.
He's still striking the ball effortlessly. Even in red ball cricket his SR is 79 this season at an average of 50 !
Let's not delude or kid ourselves, IF Sharjeel gets himself fit he gets into our white ball sides.
He still needs to drop a few more pounds though.

Sharjeel is the long term solution. I am convinced on that. He is pure talent - as long as his hand eye coordination are working.

At the core of the innings with a poor start and a dropped catch or two it was a top T20 knock from him today. Scored around 95 odd in his last 35 before getting a 100.

again, this is Islamabad DOmestic. International cricket isnt that easy that any fat guy could come an hit sixes.
He had a drop catches, and no balls and bad captiancy to assist him.
Yeh, if all that could be bought into international t20 cricket, than he will be a success. The first 5 overs was quality bowling, and Sharjeel had no clue.
If that catch was held on Sharjeel, he had a poor performance today. Lucky shots

Magnificent knock today. When he's in full flow it's like watching left-handed Inzamam. Like him big size, big potential. No selfish Misbah tuk tuks from him.
What I liked him before his fixing was that it always felt like he was going to thunder Pakistan into a chase or set up for a huge score if we batted first.
I still have legit questions if he was actually fixing or not as the case felt a bit flimsy, but that was 2-3 years of his prime wasted whether he fixed or not.
If he lost some weight and got fit he might yet STILL get at least a short term come back. It's not like there's anyone competent opening for Pakistan currently.

Babar had drop catch and struggled. And when Sharjeel was dropped he already made up for his alow start.

Sharjeel played really well no doubt about that, regarding Misbah; on his best day he did though, in a Test match against Australia

He was rotating in middle overs better then Babar. What on earth were you watching. Once Sharjeel was in he was rotating not just swinging wildly.
You make no sense when he struggles its he can't handle brilliant bowling. When he hammers the same bowlers it's poor bowling and strategy.
Fitness is just excuses. Inzamam had more poor fitness.
Your blind love for Misbah makes you look like a fool.
He out batter Pakistan number 1 batsmen and who is hyped to be one of the best batsmen in World. Watching Sharjeel and Babar bat in middle overs was like watching a kid trying to hit a boundary and struggle while Sharjeel was muscling it over the ropes and rotating strike.
Babar was trying to hit big but was getting singles. Sharjeel when he was hitting was connecting it and when he wanted to rotate he was.
If it wasn't for Babars poor innings Karachi would got 210-220 and would won it. But no its Sharjeels fault as you hate him.

They need to perform consistently in this psl one innings doesnt justify selections

I've always been a big fan of Sharjeel, but he looked seriously out of order for the first 4 overs. Once he gets in he can destroy most attacks, but good sides won't give him 3 chances.
i stopped reading when you said fitness is an excuse.

He does have fitness issues but if he continues to perform you can't ignore it.he has to be top 5 batters this year in psl to have a chance
if he continues to perform, than it only exposes how terrible our cricket is.
He is not going to survive at international arena with that fitness. You need to be able to run between wickets, he can't steal quick runs, and if he does he wont be able to rotate strike continuously as he gets tired.
Thus, what players like him do is just play an attackin shot to cover it up and usually they get out.
Today, Zafar Gohar exposed Sharjeels weakness. All you have to do is to bowl away from him. The grounds are not even of proper size. Place the proper boundary size that you will get in international cricket, Sharjeel aint surviving.
Sharjeel might flourish if we have NZ grounds and poor bowling display.
He was a great player in the past, but looking at his body weight, its really embarrassing. Its an insult to all those players who maintain high level of fitness as athletes.

If people want him in the T20I team because Pakistan is a bankrupt cricket nation with no talent, that is fine, but don’t expect miracles from him.
He never was and never will be good enough to be a consistent player in international cricket regardless of the fact that he has embarrassing fitness levels.
He doesn’t have the batting intelligence that required to succeed against world class bowlers and captains.
PSL has the worst standard of bowling among all leagues and Shadab is the worst leg-spinner in the world today.

I didn't see the game but if Sherjeel is scoring 100s then he deserves a place in the side, Skills should always be preferred over fitness, I'm not saying fitness is not important but it is over emphasised these days.

The tonking Sharjeel gave to England in that T20 was world class. When in the zone Sharjeel can be chaotic, we need this in the world cup. He is the type of player that can score a very rapid century. You wouldn't drop Jayasuriya even if he was in bad form.

Any mention of Dean jones and I recall his marathon innings in Chennai. Remember that he was so severely dehydrated that he was throwing up on the field. I was willing him to get that double ton so badly. Amazing temperament.
