Best thing to have happened on Star Sports Hindi.

I don't know Hindi/Urdu very well...my linguistic prowess is limited to whatever I've picked up from Bollywood but from what little I've heard, Shoaib speaks with passion especially in his analysis on bowling and bowlers and generally wants improvement in bowling standards in every country unbiased. He also wears sharp 3 piece suits, with matching pocket squares and ties during innings break..:akhtar

Agree?

Well he can't speak urdu which i am pretty sure, english/urdu/hindi mix doesnt sound good! Bhai when you speaking urdu please use right words not inzi like " josa hai na" !

His commentary is great and enjoyable many times. Does speak with passion and good analytical depth. Can also bring up some funny punjabi puns.

Surely has become a permanent for Star's hindi version for a decade at least.

And yes, does speak about bowlers' improvement and how should a bowler have bowled in certain situation. I have not seen anyone else calling for a more balance between bat and ball than him, really feels for the game.

His wanting that associates come up and establish themselves, "When an associate wins against a test nation is the best feeling I get", is also remarkable.

Has a very bad PR back home though, unfortunately.

He is more knowledgeable about fast bowling mechanics, spotting talent and the art in general than the two w's.

Shoaib is a pretty good commie. Very enjoyable and gives a lot of insight when a bowler is bowling. Sometimes he analyzes it a bit too much.

Shoaib would have been awesome if he could speak English fluently. Him along with Nasser and Warne would be an ATG combination in the commentary box.

ATG is a bit too far. Does go into lows as well. Sanjay is smarter, but not that passionate in descriptions of course.

I love Ian Bishop and his analysis, more than Warne (couldnt stop Yasir's praises in India's game, not that I didnt like).

Anyways, didnt Shoaib start of as an English commie. Surely has a decent English skills, with an Irish dialect.

Shoaib is quite a good analyst when he isn't playing to the crowd.

Irish/ aussie/ punjabi mix
He used to try a bit more to sound like a foreigner during his plsying days but has mellowed down a bit

he can speak enough english to get by but def not fluent enough to be a commentator in a global event

after the WC he can prolly get a gig in some low profile Pakistan series' to start off as an english commentator. I remember we had a series 4-5 yrs ago where evey tom dick and harry got to commentate

I am his fa, he has a lot of insight about bowling and is very smart. Loved his show on kapils night.night.awesome bloke

Ian Bishop in commie box is awesome if pacers are bowling his analysis are really good much better than Wasim he loves reading on screen graphic cards most of the times instead of talking about technical things.

I have been watching games in hindi only for shoaib. Very insightful and intelligent guy.

Really knows his stuff about fast bowling, the mechanics involved with it. But the best part is he is also knowledgable about batting as well as leadership etc.

If you havent heard him you must tune into hindi and hear him speak. Very smart guy, although a little hyper at times, but that only makes it better.

Insightful, how? Please pray tell. What's insightful about criticizing Misbah's English?

I guess u only understand things in their literal sense. He meant that after all these defeats, there would be no change and that and that all the stinking routines would continue.
He gets hyper, which is part of his personality but he knows his stuff much better than most analysts in pak

What do you mean a "literal sense"? If I write you an insulting comment that is unrelated to cricket, would you take it in good taste? I doubt it.

Also, I'm not disputing what said. Only a blind would disagree with most of what he said.

He is not the most articulate person and hence most people mistake his words. What he meant was that misbah just comes to the pressers and repeats the same things, narrating the match summaries, rather thsn actually pointing out the actual mistakes.

And no, had i been misbah who knows shoaib very well, i wont be cross. I would rather try to find out why the guy is criticizing me for an unrelated thing to cricket

Empty head, sharp tongue, looking for brownie points all the time, that about sums him up as a commentator.

I can't stand his hypocrisy, a few years ago when he had to sell his book, he was taking every opportunity to belittle Tendulkar and generate controversy, with the statements that he used to shiver before him

Now when he has to be in the goodie books of indian media (possibly for getting future commentary stints), he has changed his stance to 'Sachin was beyond us mere mortals'.

You either believe one or the other, a complete joker and an absolute failure as a commentator.

Shoaib is exactly what broadcasters are looking for, never short on controversy with his views, i do get the feeling sometimes he tries a bit too hard playing up to the Indian media trying to get brownie points

Not sure about his commentary as Star Sports is not available on cable here but i've seen watched n listened Shoaib's analysis on PTV during our SA humiliation back in 2013 #49ers and he was to the point and accurate.

However he is on phone line geo during the WC now and it usually masala with the so-called senior sports journo asking some below the belt questions

May have a good cricketing mind but his criticism for the sake of criticism and attack on the personality instead of the game of the individual make it sound like i am watching Saaz bahoo show

His hindi/urdu commentary is quite crazy/ Loving the passion.
