I really hope that Malik and Hafeez do well in the semi-finals. But look at their numbers below--their records are in England and versus England are extremely poor. Do Mickey Arthur, Inzamam, and Sarfraz understand what these numbers mean? If they do, then on what basis are these two being selected for matches in England and vs England? There is absolutely no basis in my view. Give others a chance...Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Fahim Ashraf, and Harris Sohail cannot possibly do any worse than what the numbers below show.

Shoaib Malik in England:

22 Matches
288 Runs
13.71 Batting Average
63.85 Batting S/R
10 Wickets
37.20 Bowling Average
4.53 Economy
49.2 Bowling S/R

Shoaib Malik vs England:

23 Matches
416 Runs
19.80 Batting Average
74.15 Batting S/R
11 Wickets
56.00 Bowling Average
5.50 Economy
61.0 Bowling S/R

Mohammad Hafeez in England:

20 Matches
443 Runs
23.31 Batting Average
62.39 Batting S/R
10 Wickets
44.60 Bowling Average
4.39 Economy
60.9 Bowling S/R

Mohammad Hafeez vs England:

22 Matches
590 Runs
29.50 Batting Average
67.19 Batting S/R
7 Wickets
62.14 Bowling Average
4.33 Economy
86.0 Bowling S/R

Malik has always been rubbish..whats new about that? also hafeez is just as bad..

Nice to see the OP posting again.

There's 33 years of combined international experience in Hafeez and Malik yet both fail on the big stage once again.

It is embarrassing that a bowler in Amir showed both of them up with the bat.

They would say its time to set the record straight as Hafeez said so regarding Dale Steyn to perhaps buy another series against south Africa.

Well we have to back them for tomorrow because they are both playing.

Nothing can be done now.

Malik at least has good form in the last 2 years. Hafeez though looks totally out of sorts and his scared kitten looks at the crease doesn't reassure anyone.

Malik has averaged 60 since his return to the ODI sphere. It is a ridiculous proposition to drop him from this side.

means nothing when you nearly cost us a knockout..I cant see mr super brain offering us anything other than his droopy shoulderness..

Malik just won us a match in England vs England.
The only match that we won.

And I think we scored 300+ in that match.

But malik would have to bat bit higher.

Malik is in the form of his life and his last innings vs England yielded 70 something runs, IIRC. However, Hafeez needs to be shown the door and this should be the start of it.

Malik and Hafeez have great experience of UK conditions thats what the team needs - Thats the nonsense that Inzi and Co would spew for these 2 selections, forget all the failures! we need experience.

lolif this is the form of his life , well I guess that just sums up his career..I cant believe some of you still laud him. 250 odi'S and he has nothing to show for it. A disgrace.

Perhaps. But he's middling the ball as well as anyone else. Against India, he was unlucky to get run out. Versus South Africa, he remained not out and was batting superbly until the rain intervened. The Sri Lankan dismissal was the only actual time he got out but yes, that should not have happened, especially in a pressure situation.

and Azhar Ali to hold one end and take shine off new ball. Lool how lost these ex-cricketers are. They definitely have no clue. We need Mohammad Wasim as chief selector.

We know what we are getting with these 2 tomorrow. Bitter pill to swallow. Once again, thanks Inzi.
