Boundaries has been shorten to 65 meters in Dubai. This has allowed the mishits to cross the boundary and no chance fielder to chase.

The idea is to make match high scoring but on non merit. I think this tactic is not good for cricket.

It's awful. I said it before last year too. It's not a good sight to see and takes a lot out of the batting technique to accomplish the maximum.

Not enjoyable to say the least.

Its not like the likes of Chris Gayle need the boundaries shortened.

With the already flat pitch we've got there's no need to pull the boundary in as well.

Boundaries should be around 75 meters long. There should be a fair contest between bat and ball.

Dubai part 1 had turning pitches and a string of low scores, so the organisers have decided to go RCB style.

First 4 games into PSL: "Who wants to see low scorers? "This is killing t20 cricket, no one wants to see tuk tuk to 120 or 130"

*Better surfaces and change of dimensions to promote high scorers*

"This is poor for cricket"

Should've used these Dubai boundaries to practise for the NZ LOI tour.

:)) @ the gif.

Don't agree entirely with your point though :P

Initial games were more interesting than this run fest. You know about the batting conditions if Azhar Ali hits 2 sixes in an innings.

T20 is all about masala entertainment. Watching a team slug its way to 120 is not fun to watch. The best match so far has been the Quetta-Lahore 200+.

Oh everyone absolutely love flat pitches for T20s. But I saw the recently concluded match where even the mishits or anything flat from hodge, heck even from Karachi tail-enders,went to the boundary.

I am not a big fan of short boundaries. Its ridiculous

Organisers seem like they were concerned at the lack of 4s and 6s and shortened the boundaries.

Should have left them as they were in my opinion.

60 metres and it's six. Not great.

Slow nature of the wickets should also be taken into account.

At the start of the tournament the matches were favouring the bowlers too much (particularly the spinners and medium pacers).

For me this brings more balance. Par score is around 160 which is better than 130-140 in earlier matches

Really not surprised pak fans complaining about this, what's even more embarrassing is they were asking for smaller boundaries in the beginning of the tourney, same fans who bash their own players after 1 bad innings

Same story in 2022, and Danny Morrison is also complaining that this is ridiculous.

Most of the 6s would not be even 6s and the bowlers are getting unfair phainty when infact they are bowling well

Well there shouldn't be two new ball rule or 35 15 fielding restriction rule either. But it probably generates more money for high scoring games, so it's still there.

I agree with this, some boundaries are a complete joke, mohalla standard. It really distorts the stats where batsmen are stat padding while bowlers are being penalised for runs they may not have otherwise conceded and 'sixes' which otherwise may have been caught.

Danny Morrison talking about boundary sizes, lol. They’re probably the same size as the ones in New Zealand. Especially the ground where Corey Anderson broke Lala’s record.

Absolutely! It is something which has disturbed me a lot as well and, due to this, I haven't been able to appreciate a lot of the supposed "Big hits" because most of them might well have actually not landed over the boundary rope at all to begin with. Poor, really poor from the organisers, to be honest. Shortening the boundaries is the last thing which is required, given already the flat nature of the pitches and the low quality of bowling that exists nowadays in cricket. Let's all be honest here, there`re no Wasims or Waqars bowling here. I would put this as the biggest minus point of the ongoing PSL edition.

Still though, what I've liked the most about the leg of the tournament being played in Lahore is that there has been somewhat of a balance and competition between bat and ball, as batting and even chasing scores hasn't been all that easy. In Karachi, it seemed at times as if the batting was being done on playstation or something. A refreshing change, a much needed one for the sake of the game. We can't afford so much of an imbalance, even if it's T20 cricket.

Backwards square leg. There's absolutely no reason for that boundary to be that tiny. Its barely jnr level boundaries

Short boundaries make a mockery out of cricket.

ICC should increase the minimum length requirement of boundary.

Exactly

Makes cricket become a farce when batters can edge a ball for 50 or so metres and flies for 6.
