Now in Islam, people believe its haram to do autopsy, as some people believe that doing an autopsy is considered mutilation.

Because of this, many people tend to be ignorant to a persons cause of death, only because of religion.

We don't know the cause of death, thus we can't save the other lives which could be saved if we figure out the cause of death of earlier patients.

I'm making this thread because the LUMS student who died while being accuses of ODing, well his family requested not to do an autopsy.

Now the student could had died by doing herione, could had been poisoned, or could had died due to some unnatural substance in his room or something like that.

So what do you guys think? Is consent of a Dead patients family members necessary for conducting an autopsy to figure out cause of death?

Islam permits Autopsy. One of the legendary and early modern day Surgeon was a Muslim and was an expert of Autopsies. (When Muslims were Moderate)

This concept of mutilation is just a Taboo.
