Just a thought. I don't think the guy is good enough to represent Pakistan as a lower order medium pace all-rounder. But no doubt, the guy is a clean striker of the ball and a gun fielder. He can be a dynamic player if utilised in the correct way. I wouldn't be afraid to test him out as a number 4, possibly opening option to have a real go at the power play overs. His bowling will suffer, but come to think about it, his bowling is pretty decent for batting all-rounder standards. It's just unfortunate that the guy doesn't get enough chances to have a go in the top 6

Worse allrounder in the world who can only hit on leg side against spinner/ medium pacer
At maximium he will become poors man thisara perara with the bat

Top 4 bat will have to face Starc, Rabada, Boult, etc. Not Dawson.

I mean, do we have much inspiration to play ultra attacking Cricket with the likes of Babar Azam and Shahzad, plus Malik in the top order?

Should contemplate a change of career and probably switch to Track and Field.

Well, Ahmad Shahzad has had his go facing them. What can possibly be worse?

There are better alternatives to Anwar. As opener he will probably end up averaging 25 at a strike rate of 90. Which is mediocre at best.

I think he'll manage 20/110-115 which given our resources right now is probably par when compared to other alternatives (specialist openers).

Probably in T20 leagues but not in International cricket.

I have never seen him batting in the top order. Not of international quality in my opinion.

He is not youngster anymore he is 30 already if he was in mid 20s than why not and also we have asif ali who can do the job perfectly plus asif is younger than annu

No way.

In the same game, he was struggling to get bat on ball until Dawson started serving homemade apple pies.

Good teams will work him out in seconds. He is a one trick pony and will not get freebies in international cricket most of the times.

His failure to connect early on is what cost them the game. He played and missed far too many times in the previous 2 overs which cost Perera his wicket.

He is also a lost hero. Pakistan didn't utilize him as an all-rounder properly. I think he was a good hitter of the ball. I still remember his innings of 28*(14) for Quetta Gladiators against Peshawar Zalmi in Eliminator 1 of PSL 2018. He almost won it for Quetta. But zalmi won it by only 1 run.

He could have been the next Abdul Razzaq for Pakistan team when he started his career but fitness issues took him down.

Much more consistent and clear striker then we tried in last few years . Didn’t had enough backing got lost in the mix

His striking was good but as a bowler, he lost his touch. Became a version of Faheem Ashraf of today, a better one but still he lost his charm. Remember that U19 spell in final, that was something he was expected to mirror later on but he could not do it again and now he is also history.
