Anwar Ali will be extremely good for asian conditions and his hard hitting ability is an added bonus.

Should definitely try atleast ahead of Faheem in ODIs

Could prove to be very handy for the world cup.

We should also consider Bilawal Bhatti and Sohail Tanvir.

Have you seen his bowling ? Yamin is a far better allrounder, and I feel that his bowling is the problem but atleast its better than what Anwar has to offer

I'd rather persist with Faheem and even Amir Yamin before going back to Anwar Ali. Dude averages 52 with the ball in ODIs

Anwar Ali will not get a bowl at international level. Im more impressed with Amir Yameen

Why should Imad Wasim even be in contention for exclusion from the XI? So far he's proven to be a handy bat with cameos at the end. Although he doesn't take many wickets, he is economical with the ball.

Yes his average is slightly inflated from being unbeaten in half of his ODI innings to date (11 out of 24), but you have to be half decent at least to average 43.84 at a strike rate of 101.42.

Faheem is ordinary with both bat and ball, so I wouldn't mind seeing him replaced with Anwar Ali in the next WT20.

Only Imad out of these three makes the ODI side on merit.

Anwar Ali's pace has gone down.

he used to be around 130-139

he was bowling at 100-120 yesterday

I would rather try out Amir Yamin at international level again as he should not have been dropped in the first place.

No, not Imad or Faheem. Anwar Ali should replace Asif Ali.

Anwar Ali is the cleanest hitter in Pakistan, better than Asif Ali, Faheem or Imad... He clearly isn't good enough to be a #5 bowler, but Anwar could split 10 over with Hafeez or Malik

definitely... much better hitter than asif ali

People have lost their mind. This is is the definition of mediocre. Useless bowler, leg side hacker. Though an excellent fielder.

TTFs like Anwar Ali are recalled only because enough time has passed for people to forget how much they sucked in the first place.

sometimes they improve and become a 2.0 version.

hafeez 2003 - 2010

hafeez 2010 - now

lol he’s a legside hack , I can bowl a maiden over to him & am 43

Faheem is a decent bowler in my estimation, got a bit more zip and bounce than Yamin. Anwar Ali isn't even a bowler any more by comparison. He's quite smart with his line and length and change of pace, but ultimately he's a medium pacer who is always likely to get collared at some point. Faheem can't really bat, but think he's at least a genuine pace bowler as compared to the others.

Anwar Ali is not an International class bowler at all, he will get murdered if played again... As a slogging batsman, why I would not play UA over Anwar Ali or Asif Ali. UA is much better batsman and can hit better than both...Look at his stats in PSL, QG knows UA is way better than Anwar Ali, that's why it bats higher and is leading scorer of Entire PSL...

If I want to add X factor to Pakistani ODI team, I would pick:

Umar Akmal

He can replace Asif Ali easily. He will be ideal for last 15 overs or even after 30+ overs on flat decks . If he gets in to rhythm in ENG, Pakistan gets lot of help... Other batters (Malik, Sarfraz, Immad, Shadab) does not have ability to charge the way he can regardless of bowling quality or pitch conditions.

Harris Rauf

He can play instead of Faheem/Immad. As a bowler he is far better than these guys. If we play Amir, Afridi, Hasan, Rauf, Shadab as our 5 bowlers, we can cut down 40-50 runs, chase can be lot more manageable. Rauf 6/8 overs in last 20/25 overs can be vital in not only controlling run rate but taking wickets. He is not easy to lineup and his Yorker is already best in the country...

Here is the point, Pakistan cannot have X factor batsman (there is no Sharjeel, nothing impressive in PSL or domestic) in 3 months nor an allrounder. But in Rauf we can further strengthen our bowling...That can help us win matches against top teams, like we did in 90s by 4/5 wicket taking bowlers in playing 11...Even in 2015 WC, when we started playing Shoial, Irfan, Wahab and Rahat (4 seamers), things started to happen, we closed down on SA and put AUS in serious trouble (that too without Irfan, if he was playing things could have been different)...

To me including UA and Rauf in ODI is a gamble worth taking, we are not like ENG/IND who are already top team and not need to take extra risk. We are #7 rank team for heaven sake, taking this gamble make sense...

Should also bring in Salman Butt in place of Imam...

Other than a cameo here and a cemo there what has Anwar Ali done? His bowling is pathetic, Faheem far outbowls him. The only person who he could possibly replace is Asif Ali but I'd rather an Asif Ali than a once every three years hits a cameo guy.

Faheem Ashraf vs Anwar Ali

I think Faheem is a better bowler than Anwar as he has more pace and can seam the ball around a bit. Although, Anwar had some slower variations and usually kept things tight.

In terms of batting, Anwar is a better hitter and reliable batsmen than Faheem. He is also a far superior fielder than Faheem.

Although, Anwar ali is not world class but I feel his an upgrade over Faheem.

Do you think Anwar Ali deserves to be in the wc squad ahead of Faheem??

Aamer Yameen. Atleast he's a proper bat.

Bowling wise
Faheem > Anwar > Aamer

Batting wise
Aamer>Anwar>Faheem

So, if we select a strong bowling attack like

Junaid
Shaheen
Hasan
Shadab
Hafeez

As a 6th bowler, We can afford Aamer and we'll have a proper batting allrounder in the team

I prefer this comparison than the one made with Pandya.

Nothing wrong with Imad as a player, the issue lies with Faheem who should be nowhere near the sqaud never mind the starting X1.

Also anwar Ali would be an even further backwards step

Ashraf is a wasted investment and needs to go back domestically and improve.

Aamer Yamin is the best we have and we should have invested in him. He is a proper bat and can go big in death overs.
Also he is not that bad with the ball and can bowl some good overs but we should avoid bowling him in the death overs.

nah anwar ali's bowling has regressed at an alarming rate.

better to invest in aamir yamin

Babar
Fakhar
Haris
Hafeez
Sarfraz
Umar
Imad/Yamin
Shadab
Hasan
Shaheen
Junaid

I can't even.

How do people even come up with ideas like these?

Mind blowing!

Faheem is capable of bowling 8-10 overs with decent economy and with a wicket or two. Anwar's bowling is Hussein Talat level.

Aamir Yamin is the best Pace bowling AR we have. Hussain Talat and Faheem are half AR

Pakistan Lower order should be like this

6. Yammine
7. shadab
8. faheem
9. Imad
10.Hassan
11.Afridi

Anwar Ali? Haven't heard his name for while? When did he last play for Pakistan?

I would have either Faheem or Yamin. My ODI team post world cup will be:

1. Fakhar Zaman
2. Imam ul Haq
3. Babar Azam
4. Haris Sohail
5. Umar Akmal
6. Sarfaraz
7. Shadab Khan
8. Faheem Ashraf
9. Hassan Ali
10. Amir
11. Shaheen Afridi

12. Hasnain
13. Asif Ali
14. Aamer Yamin
15. Umar Khan

Anwar Ali made 25*(14) with the bat and conceded 0/28 in 2 overs with the ball for KK against his former side QG.

Ya allah never Anwar Ali anywhere near the Pakistan team ever again

Don't know how he managed to have a cricketing career as long as he has, can't bowl can't bat

Anwar Ali claimed (3/29) against Kingsmen while playing for Center of Excellence today in the Ghani Ramadan Tournament.
