1/ Blunting the New Ball
Babar Azam’s technique against the moving ball is unmatched in Pakistan. Watching him face Rabada, he left the ball and dealt with pace better than any Pakistani opener in recent memory. He looked at complete ease against one of the most challenging attacks.

2/ The Best Technique in the Country
Whether it’s Tests or ODIs, Babar has shown he’s more comfortable starting his innings against quality pace than against high-class spinners. His ability to handle swing, seam, and bounce is second to none in the current lineup.

3/ Proven in the Toughest Conditions
If Babar can open successfully in South Africa, arguably one of the hardest places for an opener, there’s little doubt he could thrive in friendlier conditions like those in Pakistan. The flatter, slower surfaces would likely suit his game even more.

4/ What’s the Argument Against?
Some might say Pakistan needs him to anchor the innings at No. 3. But with a brittle top order, wouldn’t it be better to maximize his skills upfront, ensuring stability and protecting others from early collapses?

5/ The Bigger Picture
The question isn't whether Babar *can* open—it’s whether Pakistan should maximize their best batter by letting him lead from the top.

What do you think? Would Babar as an opener be the game-changer Pakistan cricket needs?
