Just after our win in semis Rizwan was giving interview to irfan pathan on star sports .I don't know if he is paid any money or it was free of cost and secondly seeing irfan pathan tweets shouldn't our players refuse to do any interview with him in final

i am all for good gesture but seeing irfan pathan tweets he should not be allow any way near our team

The issue is that the teams have to give interviews to the ICC affiliated channels and I'm guessing that Star Sports are one of ICC's media partners.

They'll be paying ICC to be one of the affiliated media partners and will expect access to players.

Yes we should.

Politics and cricket should not mix, this is a platform to show we do not support the Indian stance.

Nothing about any good gesture. Its their obligation to ICC partners.

Else i dont see why pakistani media is allowed at any of the press conferences of the Indian team.

Tournaments have media arrangements and you must give interviews to ll affiliated media.

I see nothing wrong in giving interviews. When talking the Indian channels our boys should be a bit more careful.

They should give interviews but they should put these Indian journalists and ex-cricketers in their place. Imran Khan used to do this all the time.

Those pointing fingers at Irfan Pathan, you guys might wanna update your info.

Irfan only reacted when some JahiIs from our side started calling and tweeting him with words as “Fake Muslim”.

These third class trolling, attacking someone’s religion is uncalled for - and deserves a befitting response
SHAME ON SUCH PROPLE!

Mistake Irfan made was that he brushed all with brush stroke
He should’ve said “some people in parosi don’t have grace”

He is a celebrity, so he should have kept quiet, responding to such crap is simply acknowledging these people mean anything in a larger context.

It’s pretty shameful what happened. They get enough headaches from some of their hindu countrymen, getting slandered by fellow Muslims is the last thing they would expect.

Yes no problem with that. Keep it short, professional and respectful

I feel like Indian Muslims have to be extra patriotic because they can become an easy target for right wing nut jobs, so I can see where he's coming from.

I think you need to update your own info.

Irfan made fun of pakistani fans for losing to India by saying paroosio kaisa reh Sunday.

After that, you really think Pakistanis were gonna stay quiet? They rightly put him back to his place. This time Irfan became a social media joker

Pakistani players shouldn't give interviews to Indian Sports Channels. There is no need. We give them some attention in the press conference and that to when they raise their hands and its on the player to respond to them or not.

But, for general interviews, I would prefer if they avoid.

You guys have not listen to the hindi commentary, it is sooo biased against Pakistan. And yet, to the same channel we are giving interviews.

Issue is, knowing them and its viewers they can easily twist any word they want. First Irfan pathan barked on twitter regarding Pakistanis, than you had India media channels having issue with what Rizwan said about belief.

Cricinfo I dont mind, but others like Star sports should be avoided, or if ICC makes it necessary just say a few words and get out.

And what did Pakistanis do to "put him back at his place"?

they riled him that he had to respond and become a joke. Even our PM was able to rile him up. Even Azam khan was able to rile him up.

Im glad we were able to get under him.

there is different between attending press conference and forcing player to do a interview when he was still in his playing kit .They give hardly any time for rizwan to celebrate win with this teammate

No, our players already have big head. Most of them doesn't have any educational background. They will be laughing stock by nonsense talk and humiliated in the media.

I love Pakistani interviews, even though I am not a native Hindi speakers. They cat speak good English or whatever, that's irrelevant. On the topic of grace, hope PP Fans did not forget the comment of Shoaib Malik or in recent past by legendary Waqar. India is no heaven for diversity, but atleast here religion is not referred by professional players while discussing game. Our all the sports are full with multi creed people. So I hope here, we try to keep the religion-political things aside

That's what on field interviews are for. To capture the excitement as close to real time as possible. England barely won the game and they were already interviewing Curran and Rasheed.

Forcing? Did they kidnap Rizwan?

Players are under obligation to have media interaction with official broadcasters.

Star sports pays ICC money. If pakistan wants to be in a ICC tournament they have to follow the ICC rules and give interviews. They don't have a choice.

They’re required to! I don’t think any Pakistani player has been mistreated or been misbehaved with in any interview, have they?
On the other hand, Pakistani ex players have made a post-cricket-playing career on YouTube commenting on Indian matches and players. You may want to have a chat with them to stop paying Indian cricket such attention, but alas money is more important.

They are paid by YouTube not India.Indians don’t have to watch or subscribe to their YouTube channels.I agree they shouldn’t discuss Indian cricket beyond a certain limit.
