Lol at this thread. You can't remove a team management which has won its last 4 series in charge

Yep, and in future this will forever remain our highest point because from now (all series will be serious enough against good teams)

And unfortunately, for Misbah this time hit won't be B/C/D teams he would be competing against

Generally, changes happen when we get humiliated at the World Cups..
Misbah/Waqar combo will get the slapping of their life times (for their incompetencies) in next few months when they play against England, West Indies (beast in T20), and in WT20, etc.

Also, it would be unfair for new management to take over before major event; something PCB would also not want to do.. PCB would be happy to kick Misbah/Waqar out after the pathetic World Cup campaign to save themselves

He’s been riding on luck thus far. Most teams we faced hardly used there main teams. Even against them we were struggling.

Honestly, it will be one of the happiest days of my life as a cricket fan when he is sacked. I will literally distribute mithai that day.

I do hope he gets his full remuneration when he is sacked because I don’t wish any financial loss to him or his family. But I do wish for the sake of cricket and cricket management that he is moved on!

I don't think they will sack him before the World Cup. It's pretty hard to justify that results-wise. Our fortunes at the World Cup this year will determine the fortunes of Misbah/Waqar/Younis in my opinion.

Pakistan has no talent and is among the worst teams in the world. Therefore, sacking Misbah will not make the team perform better because the quality is simply not there.

Even the best coach in the world cannot do much when the players have no ability to perform at this level.

However, we are a in results based business and you cannot keep a coach forever just because it is not his fault. When you don’t win, you have to make way for others.

After playing minnow level cricket against Zimbabwe in the T20Is, a hiccup in the Test series should be enough for Misbah to be shown the door.

Unfortunately, Wasim Khan does not have the spine to stand up to Misbah. He scrapped the dual role which he labeled a necessary innovation simply because Misbah was not comfortable with handling both the selector and coaching positions, and he then asked Misbah to choose between the two jobs and Misbah naturally went towards the more lucrative one.

Misbah was appointed under the table and he will not be removed as coach as long as doesn’t quit himself. This is the result of PCB’s weak leadership.

Any reasonable observer wouldn’t sound reasonable when making extreme statements like “Pakistan have no talent” or it’s “the worse team in the world”. Even where the arguments are interesting and valid, the audience is probably lost because Pakistan’s at least an average team that’s currently middle of the table.
When the team is average and not a world-beater, there are obviously gaps and problems which you do a good job pointing out.

Why do people hate Misbah so much? When the team does good we forget Misbah, when we do **** everyone blame Misbah. I don't get it.

If anything, we need a data-driven selection committee.
Pakistan’s flawed cricketing mythology of “unearthing superstar from nowhere” really needs to end. We need Selectors would be able drive insights from volumes of FC and List A data as it relates to international performance. And how to use that data and communicate player pathways to the international team.

Pretty sure M.Wasim does all these things. Its just no matter what talent you give to Misbah he’ll find a way to present it worse. Against weak teams we will pick our full strength teams. Against strong teams we will test out new talent.

Well if he loses the Test series versus Zimbabwe it could get interesting.

Surely that won't happen though will it.

There is no end to our musical chairs. Sure sack him then bring him Miandad or Mohsin Khan. We are good at covering cracks with wallpaper:fz

If he doesn't give chance to Saud Shakeel in this series then he deserve more than just to be sacked.

Lol he is not going anywhere guys, if we get an embarassing exit at t20 world Cup later in the year ...then maybe.

With a very feeble middle order, we may not win it anyway, so be that as it may if it helps us get rid of Misbah and Waqar, and lets exit out in the first round after straight losses and no victory. :D

Hahah The presentation I saw him giving was disparate sets of stats quoted selectively.

History remembers how you performed in WC's so i'd really rather not.

A great example of this is the shambles that was the 2015 50 over WC which was the worst LOI squad i've ever seen assembled in my life. Who was at the helm in that period? Two of the same failures we have in charge today.

The hate's made you more than colorblind mate. Doesn't matter who's at the helm, we should always be supporting our team to win

Unless that player is Asif Ali

There were not many other options in the the touring squad hence he resorted to Sarfraz in the series decider. He's given fair chances to Haider, Danish and Khushdil. No one's been able to perform to expectations. You probably won't see Asif Ali again

Misbah is the worst thing to have happened to PCT
Whatever he touches turns to dust

One should accept it...

a series win over zimbabwe will just give pcb more justification to retain misbah sadly

Misbah will not go anywhere until IK is there. I love IK lot for his honesty but very disappointed to favor nobody like Misbah for top job. Don't think Wasim Khan (puppet on string) has any power to remove him as long as IK and Mani are there.

The pathetic decision to continue playing Abid Ali and Imran Butt for me is the last straw. Even if we win this test match it just shows how illogical the management are. Everyone can clearly see that these two are not cut out for international and yet they continue with them. And why the hell have you not selected Saud yet.

Because they don't want azhar opening or he doesn't want to open

Azhar Ali is not some superstar batsman where he can dictate. Yes he’s earned his respect but the guy practically opens anyway. They should just force him to open as this is what’s required of him.

Azhar even opened when he was captaining the side. I don't think he's that sort of player that would outright reject management's decisions if they told him to do it. Anyway, given how Abid and Imran Butt are barely even Test level openers, Azhar will be out there in the middle by the 2nd or 3rd over anyway against any half-decent bowling attack. It's Misbah's infatuation with Abid despite him clearly not being good enough that's preventing Azhar from opening. He's also holding back Saud's career as a result.

It was the perfect time to debut Saud and give the guy some confidence. But apparently Abid Ali, who probably averages around 12 against any decent bowling attack, is more important to the Test team's future than giving a highly talented Saud a debut. Absolutely pathetic decision making.

Yes I agree he's holding back saud career I really like saud I think he's really classy.

Maybe its misbah and Babar and not azhar like line and length stated.

So the series got over and the team is returning as Victors.
All is well that ends well eh?
or do you think Misbah should be sacked now?

Such an ignorant statement demeaning both IK and Misbah. Misbah was tipped to be in PCB management circles before even IK was in power. Whether you believe it or not, he's actually well respected in Pakistan's cricket culture and doesn't need anyone's sifarish.

As long as this misbah guy is in the Pakistan cricket setup Pakistan cricket won't progress. He is the reason for all bad things in Pakistan cricket. He should be kicked out as soon as possible.

I'm not a fan of Misbah, but sacking a head coach after all these consecutive series wins would be ludicrous, regardless of who it is.

If you wanted to sack him, it should have been done after the NZ humiliation. We'll have to wait for the next few humiliations for the PCB to consider doing it.
