Should Mohammad Amir be dropped and told to sort out his issues in domestic cricket?

There are some issues with his bowling. You have to perform in intl matches instead of learning how to bowl.(i know you can learn but i am talking in a different persepective)

Don't you think him getting dropped and playing domestic might get him get batter. Further if he gets lots of wickets he justify his selection.
And last but no the least, he should sort out his popping crease issue

Most of these were said on ptv sports last night btw

Regards

He had been selected without playing first class...PCB and fans rushed toward his selection

Which players do we have ever get their issues 'sorted' in domestic? Failures like Kamran, Shehzad, Masood, Ifitikhar etc all do reasonably well in our domestic cricket yet make the same stupid mistakes. Kamran has been getting out to the same cut-shot since 2005, despite being dropped countless times. Shehzad still can't seem to find any gaps in the field despite dominating useless domestic tourneys. Players like Ifti appear as monsters in domestic yet are utterly useless in international arena.

In England and Australia a player is dropped and actually works on his weaknesses with coaches from the national academy. Listen to any interview or watch vlogs from ABD or Kohli and see how they worked and reworked every weakness from their stance to positioning of their bat on the crease. Eg a Smith would never have made it in Pakistan, he'd retained his problems and spent his career with them in mediocrity instead of being the batsman he is now.

In our country a person will get dropped and sent to domestic circuit. Where they will resume bashing trundlers on atrocious pitches and everyone will say ''well he's back!''. And back they are in the team with the same mistakes, same problems and where they inevitably fail. Repeat and rinse this process and the end result is what you see.

Yes no doubt. He can't be guaranteed a place in the side for what he did before his ban. He looks like a shadow of his former self. Replace him with Sohail Khan for now, don't know what happened to him.

Why is Iftikhar a failure

The one time I have seen him he looks like a tail-ender. I hope he proves me wrong.

This is the wrong way to go about things. For every player we see one time, we have seen Hafeez, Malik, kamran for ten years

No.

Domestic Cricket in Pakistan is a graveyard for destroying whatever talent one has.

COUNTY CRICKET.

Golden era of Pakistan Cricket arrived on a background of County Cricket. Pick the raw talent and slot them in County cricket.

Select best 25 from U23 and negotiate with County Sides to include them in starting XI for at least 50% matches for at least 2 seasons. Get it done, even if PCB has to pay county sides.

The thing about 'prove yourself in domestic' is a nonsense notion wrt Pakistan Domestics. In domestics, we have poor coaches, poor pitches, extremely rubbish work ethics and even worse development programs, if any.

Is it even possible for our players except Amir and Sharjeel to get a county contract?
I mean, even Azhar and Asad arent offerd a contract as far as I know.

i saw a stat yesterday that he has the BEST average in the first ten overz of odi since dec 2015.
better than boult starc rabada et al
not bad when u r bowling way below your best!!!

Then slot them into second division county to start with.

That's why I said "PCB should negotiate with county teams". Identify the raw talent and keep them away from domestic coaches, domestic pitches and domestic seniors.

PCB can ask regional or departmental teams to get mutual deals with relevant counties. Doesn't has to be directly through PCB channel.

Class of 80s and 90s was processed in COUNTY cricket. Wasim wouldn't have been WASIM if it were not for Lankashire. If it were not for county cricket, Aqib, Waqar would have been Ehsan Adil and Sadaf or Rahat.

Only when you find a better pacer in Pakistan, at the moment he is bowling better than all others.

can we have a list of all the pp fools who were jumping up and down at excitement of his being recalled to the side?

yes he should absolutely be dropped, and sent back to domestic, just like he should have been in the first place. even if you are a fan of his, it made no sense to throw a player with a five year break immediately into the deep end, how was that ever going to work out well?

I second this and also suggested it a while ago. PCB should subsidize certain players and give financial incentivs to counties to pick PAK players.

PAK and West Indian Cricket both owes their success to the counties.

PAK Domestic circuit is rubbish and it will never help anyone at all.

Stint with Essex will be fantastic for Amir

Why tell anything? Just drop him if he fails to perform this series.

In the last three odis he has gone for over 7 runs in each match.

I think Muhammad Asif improved as a bowler after he played domestic in pakistan after his debut.

You all are getting it wrong.

In pak domestic, he can experiment he can try new things freely without pressure. He can try and do a lot of things in domestic then in county or intl cricket. He will get more freedom in domestic.

I understand your concern but dont you think that its worth a try atleast?

Shoddy Pitches, Batsmen with substandard techniques. Asif will eat Domestic Batsmen for breakfast after a few games and will get over confident and just Coast.

County Cricket is more competitive and its about PAK fans admit that Imran, Wasim, Waqar were honed in the fires of county Cricket.

Even Shoaib admits the impact of County Cricket on him but he was a different kind of bowler so impact of county is less important on him.

PAK Domestic has never really produced ATG Pacer back when it was good and competitive, now its a shell of what it was with no Minadad, Inzi, Yousaf or Anwar punishing bowlers so PAK Domestic Cricket is a graveyard where you send players to die.

Asif was one of the most talented bowlers in our history. Domestic would have made no difference. I understand your optimism, but this method in our cricket owing to our inept system never works.

Excellent suggestion. Should be done to few selected players like Amir, Hussain Talat and Sami Aslam:najam

Me too. Look at his numbers in the last three odis , going @ over 7 runs per over in each match. T20s are irrelevant anyway and in tests he has been ineffective.

Going by this Hasan's economy in the last 2 matches are not even comparable to him, 14 overs 143 runs at an economy of 10.21,he shouldn't play for Pakistan again.

Hasan is new and i am not his fan , he is a short term fix. Hasan will soon be out of team , he is overhyped here on PP but far less than aamir. Aamir and hasan should be out soon.

He has been one of our best in ODI's, but people here like our selectors tend to mix test match performances with limited overs performances.

lol People already pointed this out but nobody becomes better after going back to domestic cricket in Pakistan
