Should Pakistan implement a policy of dropping/not selecting players who can't rotate strike?

One thing which plagues Pakistan cricket is players who cannot rotate strike nearly enough. The amount of dot balls some of the batsmen play is ridiculous.

Should Pakistan device an evaluation mechanism and drop any serial offenders who keep failing to rotate strike?

Simply being fit isnt enough if u dont run enough between the wickets

YESS!!.. Failure of rotation of strike is the main reason our batsman are not competing against top quality bowling lineups.

Thats all the team then besides Malik.

we won't have enough players left to make a team.

I know. But the same thing was said when they decided to not select players who are unfit. Everybody said that we wont be able to get 11 players together.

obviously such a policy wont be implemented tomorrow. They should send across a message, device a program for improvement, an evaluating mechanism and implement it gradually just like the fitness criterias.

This is the only way to improve running between the wickets.

Its not as simple as improving fitness tbh. It takes years and years of match practice to improve. You need more diverse wickets at domestic cricket and more smart coaches and captains, so that players can practice finding the gap and manipulating the field in matches. At the moment, pitches aren't diverse enough and coaches and captains don't know modern tactics so they can't set innovative fields according to players. So when a player comes to international level, the step up in this department is too much, international coaches and captains figure out the player too easily and set fields accordingly and the player isn't able to adapt and find gaps anymore.

If that is the case, there will be only onr batsman left in the team- Shoain Malik.

For that too happen selectors would need to watch the domestic game more closely beyond numbers. And also because domestic fielding standards and ground are not the same as international standards, all these champion players (fawad Alam, Khurram manzoor) of domestic cricket look like novices when faced with the international standards fielding

What if you are an national team player and i tell you that you wont be selected if your dot ball percentage is over 30% over a period of time? What would you do?

I think its not as complicated as we would like to believe. All the technical stuff can go on in the background and obviously that will help. But sometimes to simply send a message across can have a significant impact. Think its time to send this message across.

Questions need to be asked as to why is Pakistan the only team in the world with batsmen struggling to rotate the strike? What has gone wrong with our batting culture and methodology? Is it all down the domestic wickets back home and the fact our batsmen are constantly playing in the UAE? Is it because of poor coaches in our domestic cricket, NCA? Is it because fielding standards and fitness standards have gone up around the world that our batsmen are finding it harder to take singles now?

If we know about this then so do the coaching staff but it seems like whatever they're doing is making no difference. Or maybe the players don't want to put in the extra work.

We will hardly have a team with batsmen in it if that's the case.

So what should be done? This is exactly the reason why batsmen arent improving in this regard. There is no incentive and nor is there any fear of repercussions.

Exactly. People like to overcomplicate things. It is taking a single that we are talking about fgs. It isnt rocket science. It is about intent and mindset. They are playing international cricket. You expect them to have the game to take a freaking single regularly.

The issue needs to be rectified at grassroots level with quality coaching.
