Should PCB crack down on fake ages of players in first class / international or just let them be?

The problem also is that players agents and managers get passports 'made' for players with ages that are not accurate.

I've heard that Naseem Shah has a passport which shows he is 16.

In India, it is mandatory under the law to register every birth/stillbirth with the concerned State/UT Government within 21 days of its occurrence.

Shami doesnt look 28, 29 by any stretch of imagination.
 
Its the issue of the sub continent as a whole. It looks exaggerated when a teenage bowler debuts because if his real age is 18 which is also very young along with age adjustment it goes to 15-16 which surprises people.

Who knows that even Sachin was 15 or not at the time of his debut? Because looking at his pics even he looks around 17-18 or more at the time of his debut.

He is 18 and he has himself even told that and kudos to him for that as quit a few sub continental greats havent even told their real age after retirements.

“You only need to look at his face,” he said. “He’s hardly got any growth on his face. In terms of that, people question it no doubt, just because of his age and the fact that he’s a mature lad and the fact he’s playing international cricket at this age. But the bottom line is he’s 16 years old and he’s playing. We don’t really care what India think.”

1-2 years dint make that much of a difference as people are making it out to be. 16, 18 doesnt matter as he is a talent even if he is 18.

Just because Andy Roberts said something 3 years ago in an interview which he didnt know would have had so much following later. I am not sure if he would have known the exact age of any player or would have remembered that amongst everyone.
 
Wasim Khan needs to get Ifithikar Admad’s age checked. Hope he tells us his real age.
 
I’d say Nasim’s real age is around 19-20, which is the right age for a fast bowler to be making his debut. Hopefully PCB can sort this out. He’s still a massive talent.
 
My parents did reverse age fudging for me :) They probably wanted to get me to go to school early so they added an year. I am officially one year older than i am actually.
 
If faking age by 4-5 years is very common then it's going to harm building a team.

A player citing age of 25 may be closer to 30 and that will make sure that player will have a shorter career. Lots of young and talents may not really young or talented if they are being compared with players who are 4-5 years younger than them.


Did any batsman debute for Pakistan in the last 15-20 years with 5+ test runs or a pacer with 200+ wickets? Not too sure , but age faking could be factor here as well.

He looks closer to 20 years than 15 years and he bowls pretty well for 19-20 years old. This 16 years distraction is taking the focus away. Goal should be make sure that he develops from here. He could become a very good bowler.

Not sure man. As I said age is difficult to judge by naked eye. Some boys mature early and some carry baby face till thier mid to late 20s. Point I was trying to make wasnt that this doesnt happen but it happens in whole sub continent and pointing fingers at only Pakistani players is wrong.
