Should PCB have pulled PSL stars way before to prepare for WTC Bangladesh Series 2026?

We are seeing players go to Bangladesh in chunks. Whenever a player's team got knocked out. He took rest (if he could) and then traveled to Bangladesh.

Your Test captain was involved in playing PSL playoffs. Your arguable best batter Babar was in Lahore yesterday.

Bangladesh have whitewashed you in the last series. This is WTC we are talking about. Every point is important.

Have PCB made a big mistakes? Shouldn't they have pulled their main Test players long before the tour to prepare for it properly?

BBL does the same thing. Is PCB indirectly saying they now value PSL more than Pakistan Cricket?

I see your point but PSL is too big of a financial cash-cow for the PCB to compromise on. Eventhough I fully agree that the Test series is much more important.

I think the problem lies in the scheduling. I refuse to believe that the date couldn't have been pushed further allowing all the players ample time to participate in the training camp before the tour. Ultimately it all comes back to the incompetence and lack of foresight of the PCB, who don't take Test cricket seriously enough.

It's not a huge financial hit. You just had to take out your 15-16 Test squad players before the last handful of PSL matches. Many of the Test players like Khurram didn't even get to feature in PSL that much.

But if you lose the series against Bangladesh again. That will damage your Cricket.

IPL players never withdraw from the IPL. Why should the PSL withdraw its players? If anything the PCB should have scheduled better and given the players 1-2 weeks to recover.

That's not so easy to do that when someone else's money is involved.

But as I said, if they had just shown more sense with the scheduling there would be no issue. It's not like they decided the PSL was taking place in this window a couple of months ago... they knew this a year in advance. The fact that they decided to arrange a Test series just days after the final tells me that they are either not very bright, or don't give a damn about Test cricket. I think it's probably a combination of the two.

When was the last team an Indian Test series began within a week of finishing IPL?

It would be a huge concern if they had played too many of T20s just prior to the Test series. I am guessing that they won't take very long to get adjusted to the pace and technique of tests.

PCB's scheduling never makes any sense. These guys even happily schedule series during holidays of Eid aswell. Or have a day match in Ramadan.

weird bunch of people.

With Pakistan players, it will not even matter if they had skipped the whole PSL.. The preparations mean nothing for these guys. They will still do nothing on the field even if they prepare for the whole year.

All WTC finals are played immediately after the IPL, and India has already qualified for the first two, so there's not much time between the IPL final and the WTC final. Many Indian fans, including me, criticized the IPL schedules
