Should Rumman Raees be a permanent starter in Limited Overs matches?

The way he replaced Amir in the high pressure semifinal vs England and performed brilliantly showed his mental strength.

He is fit, young, works hard and most importantly has a great bowling brain. Looks a real limited overs specialist and has silenced the armchair critics who called him an ordinary trundler.

We should permanently move on from useless bowlers like Irfan, Shinwari, Sohail, Rahat, Tanvir, Wahab etc and persist with him alongside Hasan, Amir, Junaid of course.

Should play ahead of Junaid Khan.

An ideal bowler for limited overs.

Amir and Hasan are permanent in the lineup offcourse. I would invest more in Raees than Junaid, but they are not too far from each other in ODI...In T20 Raees triumps, even right now...

Over the overrated Junaid definitely, great cricketer this guy, smart like Hasan and that will reap your rewards.

Hundred percent! Love his work ethic and he is one of the few bowlers in Pakistan who actually has a brain.

shinwari is nt bad either,,,he has some flaws in his action as waqar said today but definitel someone to be invested upon..

Lots of bowlers in domestics who "aren't bad." Rumman at least has consistently topped the leagues back home. Shinwari had one good T20 that happened to be televised. A travesty.

he was good in last qa trophy..5th highest wicket taker with 24 average..

T20s
Amir
Hasan
Rumman
Usman

Odis
Amir
Hasan
Junaid
Rumman

I think he can take over Junaids spot in one days but at the moment I would stick with Junaid

I'd get him in and give him a chance in ODI as soon as you can. Get some experience into him and give him a chance. You need at least 4 good quicks in modern cricket as chances are at least one is injured at any time so Rumman looks your best bet of the rest.

Get him in for one of the other quicks for a few games next series- saves your top 3 from having to play every single meaningless ODI.

He's not really a quick but more of a deceptive, change of pace bowler.... really handy cricketer with a good head on his shoulders.....

Should be rotated with the other seamers in order to gain experience. I imagine he is (rightly) part of the WC19 plans.

He should definitely be in the squads but not necessarily a starter in the 11. Hasan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Junaid Khan & Rumman Raees should be the 4 main pacers in our ODI squads and I guess the trio of Ali, Amir and Khan was successful in CT so those three should be the first three picks in the 11. I think Raees may be a permanent starter in T20s though as JK is not in contention for them

He should definitely be in the squad. He offers something different to out other pacers. I like his personality and variety.

As of now Amir, Hasan and Junaid should be first choices with Rumman as back up.

Not impressed with Shinwari and for me Sohails time is gone. Irfan is done.

I keep hearing about these superstars Aqib Javed has under his wing. When are we gonna see them?

People seem to have fish brains, the guy came into the CT semi-final and put in a world class performance like it was nothing:

If that doesn't prove his worth in terms of earning a long rope am not sure what does, never mind his attitude, work ethic and willingness to change his ways with regards to the earlier fitness issues :wasim

Junaid should still start over him in ODIs, though Rumman should be next in line after the 3 starters.

Exactly. There's a lot to like about him. I don't understand why people don't want him to be given a chance.

He's the atypical pakistani seamer, he doesn't run in hard and look to take off bowlers heads; maybe that's why he rubs people the wrong way or his max pace. But Raees is all about finesse and versatility when it comes to his skill, his variations and accuracy are exactly what we need in the modern era of extremely batting friendly conditions. Am not saying we don't need a Junaid, Hassan Ali or Amir but Raees needs to form an integral part of our attack in order to add much needed variety rather then remaining one dimensional
