Should Sarfraz Ahmed give up the gloves if he captains across all formats?

He's a good keeper, though I feel there's an even better batsman in there, who could benefit from specialising as one while also being the captain this team needs. He, I believe has a lot more runs in him - wasted at 7 given our options.

Could be the best way to maximise 'Sarfraz', dynamic/vocal skipper and specialist batsmen - just a question of whether there is a better keeper in Pak, with fewer fumbles (probably won't be as good a batsman).

Yes, he cant keep in tests and be captain. This is nothing to be ashamed of, legends like Sanga, AB and Gilly couldn't do both and had to choose. Not everyone is Dhoni, I hope Sarfraz acknowledges this

Rizwan has a good first class record and has greatly improved his keeping, he should get a go when Misbah leaves

We should also start nurturing the next wicket keepers. Beyond Rizwan and Sarfraz the only person I see of any note is Rehan Afridi.

Unfortunately Rizwan is not a test-batsman. I do not see any other competent keeper-batsman in the domestic scene either. This would mean that Sarfaraz will have to keep in the short-term.

However, Misbah has decided to continue as skipper and we could be stuck with him for the next 2-3 years. Hopefully by that time another competent keeper-batsman emerges and then Sarf can give up the gloves.

Way too early to close Rizwan's test career. I think he can do well. His batting is more suited to test matches, plus he still only 24. He has a better first class average then the likes of Azhar and Asad, while this doesnt translate to sucess, it does show he can score runs. He will need to improve his play of spin, but I think he will be up to the challenge.

We shouldnt look at his ODI performances when juding his suitably for tests. In odis he has regressed but at the same time he never was a lower order batsman.
