Think the time is ripe for him to make his decision as delaying further will simply leave a bad taste in the mouth - but is he still an asset in T20Is for Pakistan? Should he stay on?

No, that's a decision he should make. The PCB doesn't have to select him but nobody should be forced to retire, give up their livelihood. We live in a free market not the USSR. Malik should retire whenever he wants but the cricket board isn't obligated to select him, nobody is entitled to a job nor does anybody have the authority to retire somebody.

That’s a very strange way to answer the question. What he’s asking is whether Malik is still an asset to the T20 team or a liability and with that in mind should Malik call it a day. Yes he should retire when he wants but do we think the time is right for him to retire now. That’s what he’s asking - not your bizzare reply whether he should be forced to retire or not.

Anyway on the other hand I think it’s the well over due and he should hang up his boots

LOl is this by any chance Shoaib Malik himself? No wait it's gotta be Mohammad Hafeez, the professor himself it all makes sense! :))

No it is dhoni lol!!😁

And the answer is - why are we STILL asking this question?!!
Should have happened in 2012!!!
Come on shobby, time to put your toys away, you have played well past your bedtime!!!

I don’t think he deserves to retire..
He should be sacked

Perhaps keep him in T20's and assess his form. If he does good, can keep him. So I voted that he should retire after World T20. But the next series is key in assesing his ability. What shocked me about him in the WC was not his lack of runs, but his poor body language and especially his fielding. He didn't look interested or hungry at all, which is not expected at all from someone like him. Things like this tend to be applicable across all formats, so it wouldn't surprise me if he's the same in T20, and if that is the case, then drop him with immediate effect, but he should be picked in the next T20 squad, imo.

He is gonna keep playing in International league for T20 until he retires. He did retire in this World Cup as promised so major issue is Hafeez now.

Listen there are some corrupt board members in pcb, why these two are picked i dont understand.

STOP PICKING THEM

Simply put the t20 team should be used to develop players for the odi game

Seeing as malik has retired from odis and is in his late 30s he shouldnt be picked for t20s anymore He should be surplus to requirements

Retiring is his decision but pcb shouldnt pick him anymore

Malik is the spiritual leader and motivator for the team. He leads the namaaz and his team talks were the catalyst behind the boys picking themselves back up after the India defeat. Pakistan play better when Malik Bhai is around and his cool head is needed ideally for WC 2023.

He should retire from T20s too. Knowing PCB they'll make the next WT20 a testimonial tournament for him.

He should have retired ages back. Can't believe such an average cricketer has played for so long.

It would be the biggest scam ever if i see his name in the next Pak T20 squad.

Wont be surprised to see him again in T20s with selection committee giving excuse we need experienced players. I was watching some of Maliks batting highlights when he was younger. To me his balance was way better before which is why he is struggling now. Cant see him rectifying these issues now.

Inzamam speaking to the press today:

"Shoaib Malik was in the team for the past 3 years and played almost all the ODIs. He had good performances and he was selected due to that. Unfortunately he didn't perform but that could have happened with another player as well. I think he is a very good player but sometimes it happens that you can't perform"

Will be a disgrace if he continues to get selected in T20s.

His PR firm is making a huge push.
