The recent game between RCB and Mumbai Indians in IPL ended with the last ball being no-ball and the umpire failing to spot the same. MI won the game eventually by 6 runs with the last ball yielding no runs. AB De Villiers was still at the crease and the batters did not run a single of the last ball. There has been lots of criticism on the umpiring not only in this game but in other games around the world as well as players claim lots of no-balls are being missed.

The only time the third umpire checks a no-ball is if there is a referral for a wicket. Do you think the third umpire should be given the power to be pro-active in such scenarios? A ball here or there can surely make a difference in a close game like this one

Lots of former and current players have expressed frustration over this and have said that the technology should be put to better use.

What is your take on this?

The process of removing responsibility of calling no balls from the on field umpires is way overdue. A pointless variable which is very easily solved by technology.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I believe with the technology that's being used in cricket for different things what happened in the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MIvsRCB?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#MIvsRCB</a> match highlighted that more should be done. <br><br>A quick call from the third umpire on the <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/noball?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#noball</a> would have been the right way to go and must be implemented going forward. <a href="https://t.co/58lGfHJKJu">pic.twitter.com/58lGfHJKJu</a></p>— Brian Lara (@BrianLara) <a href="https://twitter.com/BrianLara/status/1111510978821267456?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 29, 2019</a></blockquote>
