So while watching SA vs Aus test I saw a stat about the best away winning records of teams since 2010 and Pakistan was at no 3. I guess Aus was at 1 and SA at 2 while Ind was at 5.

So I guess this stat might put some arguments to rest. :shafiq2

Why don't you post the stats??

India had atrocious away tours wasn’t it 13-0 or something? That was when we were fielding in over the hill players on their last legs combined with newbies who were starting to get a hang of international cricket..

Now we have a settled side so the tours to Aus and Eng we should give tough fight.. We should win against England by a decent margin as they themselves are not in the best shape right now.. Australia are in their peak as India are in theirs so if we win their it would be biggest win in history..

We should have won against SA too who are in transitional phase but lack of preparation/poor selection hampered are chances..

Let’s see how 2018 goes..

Regarding Pakistan they are currently is building phase so next 2-3 years would be crucial for them to get a stable team, best of luck to you guys..

Doesn’t matter I think we went 13-0 or something away so im sure We are not at the top.. And only think which we should aim for is being at the top anything less than that is a disappointment.. Let pakistani fans be happy with being 3rd best.. Let’s see how 2018 goes is a very crucial year which will decide whether or not we have moved forward or are the same as usual losing most of away series and cherishing a one off win or draw like anything (basically being happy with mediocrity)..

Saw the graphics shown by the Super Sports. Then checked it on stats guru. It was wrong. Lol. Whoever is the statistician for them should be fired.

Yeah I guess they showed in from 2010 but the one Abdullah719 has posted are correct.

not a big difference between Australia/Pakistan/India South Africa is clear cut best team in this decade.

Such abysmal stats that even the #2 team on the list does not have a 1+ W/L ratio. People still want test status to be stripped for the weaker teams. Cricket is probably the only sport whose fans want lesser teams to play.

According to the posted graphic India are 0.55 and Pakistan are 0.76 which mathematically means.

South Africa will lose 25 games and win 35 (Clear Winner)
Australia will lose 25 games and Win 20 (Difference with Above ranked team - 15 wins)
Pakistan will lose 25 games and Win 19 (Difference with Above ranked team - 1 win)
India will lose 25 games and Win 13 (Difference with Above ranked team - 6 wins)

I don't know how did you come up with Australia Pakistan and India in the same category tbh? It's more like:

South Africa
Australia/Pakistan
India
England
The rest!

To be fair, India has been able to draw a lot of games. Need good bowlers to win. With Shami not in the mix any more need Yadav to step up.

India has 0.700 W/L ratio if cut off date is 01 Jan 2010.
India has 0.900 W/L ratio (highest) if cut off date is 01 Jan 2013.

You see, it's possible to set a "suitable" cut off date to suit a certain narrative.

Is the Thread asking for cut off date = 2010 (NO!)

I guess it shows just how bad everyone bar South Africa has been when Australia is number 2 and everyone over here thinks we have been shocking overseas.

Almost meaningless, everyone knows we've been a good side during the early part of that period, but it's completely irrelevant to where we are now and where we are heading.

The whole bowling lineup is still up in the air, the batting is miles from settled and we have one leggie who's our sole matchwinner to the point where we cannot feasible fathom winning in any conditions without him carrying us to victory.

Pakistan is not the best Test side in the world, but quite clearly, the so-called "best" side isn't either. I expect us to put a fight in England later this year and if we play enough tests in the future, I don't see Pakistan losing too many. Harris Sohail is going to establish himself and in Salahuddin, Azam, Aslam and Azhar, Pakistan is going to have a more than able batting line up.

Probably because Pakistan's only away tours until 2015 were of WI, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka? :yk3

Just to expand on my point above, Pakistan has played 14 matches in Eng/SA/Aus/NZ since 2011, lost 10 with a W/L of 0.3. So most of the success people seem to be bragging about came from minnow-bashing.

I'm sure India has a worse W/L, although India has drawn a lot of games (if I am not wrong). With Pakistan, you almost always get a result that's why you see a 70%+ loss record.

If a thread gets derailed by facts, then that's none of my problem.

Try better next time.
