I am really excited about this tournament. The Pentangular is the best tournament in Pakistan domestic cricket and is of the highest quality. Every year, this is the tournament to watch as the best 75 cricketers compete. It comes at a good time with the World Cup round the corner.

First game is on Wednesday. Timings are below:

1pm Pakistan time.
8am UK time.

I am sure PTV will show the games. I wish we could go back to when Geo showed them, was a lot better then PTV. PTV is nothing short of awful.

Key cricketers to look out in this game between the 2 teams are:

Sindh: Mir Hamza, Shahzaib Ahmed, Tabish,

KPF: Mukthar Ahmed, M.Rizwan, Gohar & Naeemuddin. Will also be interesting to see how Junaid goes on his comeback.

Above are cricketers who have never played for Pakistan which is why I picked them out. I believe all of them have very good ability and talent. I am especially excited about those. As well as them we have the already big names of:

Afridi, Fawad, Malik, Anwar, Yasir Shah, Manzoor, Sharjeel & Faisal Iqbal competing so it should be a very good game.

Hope it will be a good game and we can identify some good cricketers.
 
Good Tournament and an equally good format, I love league format with 2 best teams qualifying for Final

I hope This tournament has some Say in World cup selections

Shafiq and Younis Khan collect ducks

And somehow we are saved by not having them in the squad
 
Who comes up with these names?
Also, I want to see Junaid pick up at least 4 wickets and show some form.

Younis is almost confirm starter, I hope he translates his Test form into ODIs for sake of Pakistan

is malik also in khyber or sindh match...i thought he is in punjab

I'm excited about this tournament as well, but the timing is crappy for us US viewers lol

Also, when you say the best 75 players, I don't think thats true, if that was the case then Sadaf Hussain would have been selected.
 
Should be a great contest. I think, still 5/6 spots are open in WC squad & this tournament 'll make/break some career.

If the best combination played, probably Punjab & Baluchistan 'll play in the final, with Sindh 3rd (with Afridi rested, actually they moves from 4th to 3rd in my rank - Afridi playing & Fawad leading, that team 'll hardly win anything). The KP side is probably the weak link, rest 4 are almost at per, but the Baluch has the best attack & Punjab has the best batting.

However, considering WC in AUS/NZ, I think, they would have done better to play Day matches. It dews like rain in Karachi this time & bowling second 'll not be easy. Anyway, only player I would have liked to see was Md. Sami - may be, may be he is already in contention. I have so far seen about 5 squad list, so not sure, but I think, most of the confirmed players (barring Irfan) being rested, which is the right way to go. Before every big series, BCCI used to arrange triangular, resting confirmed players.

Players who don't have a safarish must set the domestic on fire which Sadaf has not done. (Pace)

Waste that Azhar is captain tbh, no idea why he is captain ahead of Maqsood. Especially when Maqsood was captain of Pakistan-A against UAE, there is no consistency whatsoever in PCB, job cricket board run by clowns and illiterate fools
 
Why is Shoaib Malik playing for KPK and not Punjab? Most importantly, why is he not playing at the Big Bash League? :sanga

Get ready Punjab for the whooping of a life and don't come crying in the end with excuses that the selection was bad and Sadaf would have made a difference. Also we have Mir Hamza :108:

This B grade club class cricketer Anwar Ali is opening the bowling for not only Pakistan but for karachi too.
 
No swing from Hamza in his first over..

Pace looks lower/similar to that of Anwar.. 125-130 kph.

There's absolutely no swing on offer today. Maybe just very slight movement.

Why?

Are they using Kookaburra ball?

Or is it because of Karachi's weather? offering no swing through the air?
 
I just don't see anything special in Anwar to lead an attack. Even if you want to play him play him as a 5th bowler who should be able to bat a bit too. But leading a bowling attack?For Karachi?For Pakistan A and Pakistan national team? It's shocking.

Karachi is known for dead batting tracks. I bet Kami averages Bradman esque on these pitches..:yk

Lol Anwar Ali is a first class trundler YET spraying the ball all over the pitch.

Garbage bowler.

On the other hand, Mir Hamza is showing a LOT of control. Bowling great lines and length.

But he has bowled in good channels, hence only give 6 runs in two overs and also a wicket.

Anwar Ali is really ordinary.
 
That ball by Anwar Ali swung a lot .. outswing to the lefty..

Come on Hamza. You need to swing it to impress the selectors.

maybe Hamza is a C grade trundler I don't see anything special in Hamza will be cannon fodder at the top level.

I saw him bat today for the first time and what I saw an ugly pull followed by getting out lbw to Anwar Ali. I know it's too early but right now I will say he has a lot to improve.
 
If Anwar Ali can get back his inswing consistently, he could be handy.
