sindh are a shambles this season, no way a team with the largest city, one of the most developed club cricket scenes, playing all their games in home conditions and barely any players away on international duty should be this weak.
there seems to be much deeper issues than just basit ali. losing sarfraz completely throws this team out of whack, they seem to have the driest reserves of young players and most surprisingly, no consistent spinners.
Sarfaraz has nothing to do with it, they have 2-3 young keepers coming through who they have themselves failed to promote. Keep an eye out for Ghazi Ghouri next season... hopefully.
Spinners - I’d say they’re more blessed than most with Asghar and Abrar Ahmed. You don’t see Central Punjab complaining about losing Zafar Gohar and Bilal Asif, or Balochistan complaining about not having Yasir Shah. Coming through the ranks are Aarish Ali Khan, Aamir Ali, Adeel Meo, and Aaliyan Mehmood. That’s a ton of spinners that they have deliberately chosen not to promote.
You need to make do with what you have and especially when you have some of the top U19 performers, there are absolutely no excuses.
Your batting lineup is catapulted by Saud Shakeel, the second best batsman in the tournament, Omair bin Yousuf, arguably the best U25 opener in the tournament, Sharjeel Khan, arguably the best opener of any age in the tournament, and Asad Shafiq, who is fresh off the back of being dropped from an international Test side and should easily be coached into scoring runs for fun at a domestic level.
You have the best pace attack in the tournament between Mir Hamza, Shahnawaz Dhani, and Tabish Khan, and a decent upcoming all rounder in Hassan Mohsin.
I would argue that Sindh is, on paper, the best side in this tournament. To consistently rank at the bottom despite that is absolutely shambolic.
