Busy year with the T20 World Cup the main ICC event for this year.

What are your expectations for Pakistan in 2024?

2024 will not be easy for Pakistan Cricket because Babar is out of form. We haven't announced our ODI captain. We have made Shaheen the T20I captain, and his form is also not up to the mark. Moreover, we just have 7 Test fixtures in 2024.

too much T20 cricket is just undermining the traditional standards of Test cricket in Pakistan.

It might be happening because players are also not interested in longer formats now.

Crucial year for Shaheen as a bowler. Now he has to play all these games plus the T20 leagues. I hope he stays fit.

Sethi comes back as PCB chairman to replace Zaka.

Imad Wasim takes back his retirement ahead of the WT20.

Babar and Rizwan will be “rested” in T20i’s after the PSL.

Shaheen to retire from test cricket.

Kamran Akmal named as fielding coach.

Pakistan win the WT20.

After playing all these T20's if they don't make it at least to the semis of the WC then they are surely a hopeless lot.

After the most pathetic and gutless 3-0 white wash to England at home last time, Pakistan needs to show they have learnt from that cowardice performance and can beat England this time round

2024 will be one of the best years. Naseem Shah back, Rizwan will be the primary keepr in tests, Ayub will be utilised and we will win the 2024 T20 WC

However, that schedule looks terrifying for Shaheen and you wonder if he's going to be grinded into complete dust by the end. After this Aussies series, he's going to captain and therefore has to play in T20's vs NZ, PSL, more T20's vs NZ, more T20's vs Ireland/England & then T20 WC. And the schedule after that is brutal with 5 Test matches, ODI's & T20's vs Aus & Zim and then a SA tour across format series. IIRC, early 2025 has a tri-series as well for ODi's and then championship.

So uhhhh.... goodluck Shaheen.

Anyone know when they are scheduling Test series vs WI? If it was up to PCB, they would likely delete it completely.

That is a brutal schedule.

Let's hope for lots of rotation but given the job insecurity of team management and captain - unlikely.

so 2024 is a t20 year, finally some good old short format cricket is going to be played this year

between the five months from the end of the sydney test to the start of the the t20 world cup Pakistan will play a mixumum of 640 overs of cricket, that's equivalent to 6.5 full odis, or 1.5 full test matches.

We will need to wait till October when the real cricket starts with Pak v Eng tests.

Draw the home test series against a rubbish English side.

Get mauled against SA in SA.
