Nothing wrong with criticising Mickey, but it's particularly amusing coming from a supporter of the two specialists in failure Misbah "never even coached a pub team" ul-Haq and Waqar "Australia bowling coach reject" Younis.
What happened to the "bright new era" under Misbah the OP promised ? We beat below par Sri Lanka and Bangladesh teams (in Pakistan, not UAE where Mickey coached), and been hammered by everyone else.
- Not just beaten, but embarrassed by Australia with the worst bowling display in history of Pakistani tours there, averaging 89 runs per wicket. Termed by Ricky Ponting as "the worst bowling attack on our shores". Hardly came around the wicket to David Warner despite Stuart Broad showing world in 2019 Ashes where to bowl to him.
- Failed to defend 277 vs England. Given next two Tests were rain curtailed, a win would've given Pakistan the series. Didn't even bother bowling short to Chris Woakes demonstrating total lack of planning, again showing Waqar's lack of cricket IQ.
- Whitewashed by New Zealand. Again, the worst bowling display by a Pakistani attack in seam/swing friendly NZ, averaging 60 runs per wicket. Yet OP cursed Azhar Mahmood for much less.
- In T20s we've not won a single series against any top team, mustering only a draw against a second string England. Worrying in a World Cup year.
- Selection policies are akin to a bull in a china shop. Either kids are fast-tracked with scant FC experience like Musa, Naseem and Abdullah, or seniors randomly called up well past their primes like Mohammad Irfan, Sohail Khan, Imran Khan and others.
No objective observer will buy this spin designed to deflect Misbah and Waqar's car crash tenure.
