We need to understand that the entire nation of Pakistan suffers from inferiority complex. It is understandable because we are worse than India at pretty much everything that you can think of.

Economy, business, global image, foreign relations, technology, space explorations, sports, tourism etc. etc.

Such reactions are simply a by-product of where Pakistan stands in the world compared to India.

As a result, for almost every Pakistani cricket supporter, doing better than India in a World Cup is the only aim.

While the big teams consider anything but a victory a failure, Pakistan will milk this World Cup forever because they made the final and India didn’t.

If Pakistan get smashed by England in the final, it won’t come back to bite him or the crores of people who echo his sentiments because they don’t see it that way.

They will be sad for a few days and then they will say so what if we lost the final, at least we did better than India. They would also forget that we lost to India in the same World Cup.

Maybe not the way India is playing it on field but how India has made cricket which was a colonial sport watched by a few elites to a billion dollar mass industry is definitely a case study countries like Pakistan with the 2nd biggest cricket following can use.
