Some important conclusions from 2019 PSL

1. We have found some quality young pace bowlers in Hasnain, Musa and Haris Rauf, who have the ability to bowl above 145 kph.
2. Imam ul Haq is a quality batsman who has the ability to play in all three formats for Pakistan and is the future of Pakistan cricket along with Babar Azam.
3. Faheem Ashraf merits a place in Pakistan's squad on his bowling alone. As he is the only pacer in top 10 of ICC T20i rankings and is among the wickets in two consecutive PSL seasons. Time for him to improve his batting and he will be the perfect all-rounder Pakistan is looking for.
4. Umer Khan of Karachi Kings is a very talented, young and thinking left arm spinner and must be taken care off as he is one for the future.
5. Umar Siddique of Multan Sultans has the ability to be a backup for Sarfaraz Ahmad. He has shown that he has the ability to hit long and also has a good domestic record.
6. Muhammad Rizwan cannot be a backup for Sarfaraz as he is not a good batsman.
7. Junaid Khan is finished as a bolwer but Wahab Riaz still has it in him to play for Pakistan and is on par with Shinwari at the moment.
8. Muhammad Amir now is just the shadow of his former self. He is struggling to bowl over 135 kph.
9. Zafar Gohar has the ability to be a backup spin all-rounder for Shadab Khan.
10. Yasir Shah is not a limited overs bowler.
11. Asif Ali and Hussain Tallat should be given more chances and confidence to play for Pakistan in Limited overs cricket.
12. Fakhar Zaman needs to stop slogging and should start playing cricketing shots.

13.salman Butt should retire
14.Qalandars are still rubbish
15.Malik is the worst captain

16 Sarfraz is still in bad form with the bat
17 Aamir Yamin is good allarounder and should be persisted with
18) Rizwan Hussian was a hype machine
19) Mohammad Hafeez always gets injured
20) its official you will only see 3 teams that can make the finals either Peshawar Quetta or Islamabad
21) not a single Pakistani batsmen can hit a century in this year PSL ( unless someone does it in the finals)
22) still a lot of the young players are warming the bench to make room for the foreign players or for TTFs

Also, Qalanders must get rid of Aqib Javed as soon as possible because they have done everything else but to no avail. Aqib Javed must be sacked.

well said. Agree with all your points, except on Wahab and Asif.

Wahab has been good in the PSL, but he has always been streaky. One day he'll look like Akram, the next day he'll be worse than Rahat. Definitely no future for him in International Cricket.

Similar for Asif Ali - he is a good domestic hitter, but nothing beyond that. He didn't just fail in an extended run with the national team, he failed miserably, was a total catastrophe.

Also, another point I would add is that PSL management is totally unwilling to take risks on younger, unproven batsmen

1. Kick out Malik
2. Sarfraz is a liability
3. Imad is a glorified darter, nothing more, fools everyone by claiming an all-rounder spot and cannot bat
4. People seeing the light now, how bad Shinwari is
5. Shadab needs to work on his bowling
6. Aqib Javed is bringing down Qalandars, plus Butt

We don't have any upcoming young power hitter

Our power hitters are all flat track bullies. Fakhar, Asif Ali and Talat Hussain all need the ball delivered in their hitting slot otherwise they are generally failing. They can smash the lesser bowlers, but the top class ones will find them out.

Biggest conclusions are that Imam needs a shot in T20s. Faheem is a good T20 bowler and should be kept around the T20 squad. And Abbas has shown a bit of promise in Limited overs cricket.

I don't think anything else really stands out considering the World Cup is soon. Don't think it's worth bringing in unknown/unproven entities now, just work with what you have.

The bowlers are coming through.

No sign of batsmen though.

Fielding seems to have improved overall.

Teams are still sticking with flops in their starting XI.

Main conclusion:

Sarfraz is by far the best captain and wicket-keeper batsman in Pakistan and haters should stop their propaganda of dissing him everyday by wanting some legends on who live in some parallel world. We saw what your best captain and best wicket-keeper did against SA and we lost our x1 t20 series winning streak.

As thee is no new batsman emerging, bring back the "old" ones who are till young, now better players, are inform and we have spent much on them.

1-Ahmed Shehzad
2-Umar Amin
3-Umar Akmal

What exactly he did as a batsman in this PSL ?

Remove Imam, Salman Butt, fire Aqib Javed and select Bismillah Khan as Wk instead of Mohammad Rizwan.

and
2. Hussain Talat should be given more chances in LOIs

I don't know how you concluded these 2 points on the basis of PSL4.

A motivated and focused Shehzad is better than hack Fakhar.

International cricket should be back in Pakistan and Pakistan is still the land of fast bowlers

I am disappointed with Shinwari's performance. Was he overrated and now has been found out or is he struggling with form?

Junaid Khan is "finished" as a bowler because he got tonked in a few T20 matches. He's always been an average T20 bowler, some of these conclusions are silly.

What form did he have to start with??

He was overrated coz of the 151 ball and now has been found out.
I knew he's a brainless bowler when he kept on bowling no balls and full tosses to Rohit Sharma in the 2018 Asia cup.

998. Ahmed Shehzad deserves a last chance
999. Wahab Riaz deserves also a very last chance

How was the PSL 2019?

Pros:

So PCB has successfully organized another PSL

This was a major PSL tournament because it proved that it could survive the change in Leadership in the PCB.

It also bagged great broadcasting deals.

We were able to adopt a contingency approach to the problems we faced by the unethical Indian production company.

We were also able to keep the tournament running even when a mini battle had started by the IAF.

We successfully held more games in Karachi, and had sold stadiums in Karachi.

We even got more foreign players to come to Pakistan, we even got a reluctant Watson to come to the country aswell.

Cons:

I might be wrong, but to me all most every match was one sided. There weren't that many matches which had a nail biting finish. No super overs this time around.
There were probably 2-3 nail biting finishes.

A motivated and focused Shehzad is better than hack Fakhar.

We would be making a big mistake by not selecting Shehzad. Time for someone to get injured in the Australia series or Shehzad to be sent as additional player.

International cricket should be back in Pakistan and Pakistan is still the land of fast bowlers

This PSL has shown that we are ready to host international cricket at its fullest now!

What a fantastic achievement by security forces, PCB and the last two governments.

This. We are going back to Ahmed Shehzad and Umar Akmal for the world cup...

They will fail spectacularly in the World Cup but the cycle will continue because they will always perform well in low grade competitions like the PSL and Pakistan cup.

Pakistan's batting in all formats is in a very poor state at the moment.

The lack of batsmen who can play long innings in Test cricket and then the lack of power-hitters and batsmen who can change a match are a real concern.

Junaid Khan still is a good bowler. He should be given a chance in England.
