Expecting a CT final style performance. :)

I'd bring in Hasan for Amir. Let Shinwari have another chance.

Would prefer the same team, but one or two changes wouldn't hurt. It's good to have consistency in selection. The more these players play together, the better the chemistry will be in the next series.

I would guess the same team, would be a big call to leave either shinwari or Aamir out

Rest Hafeez since he’s not bowling, for Shan Masood.

Imam ul Haq
Fakhar Zaman
Babar Azam
Shan Masood
Mohammad Rizwan
Shoaib Malik
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Mohammad Amir
Shaheen Afridi
Usman Shinwari

SA is in a situation where they must bowl opposition out under 200 consistently. With a long tail, with no real attacking batsman down the order bar Miller, SA will solely rely on De Kock to provide momentum. First round elimination is coming.

Rest Hafeez since he’s not bowling, for Shan Masood.

Imam ul Haq
Fakhar Zaman
Babar Azam
Shan Masood
Mohammad Rizwan
Shoaib Malik
Imad Wasim
Shadab Khan
Mohammad Amir
Shaheen Afridi
Usman Shinwari

The problem with that is: Hafeez is a senior player, so he adds bit of composure. I am all for his replacement as well, but then I thought Hafeez could bowl 10 overs as well, and can spin it too. So, Imad could be replaced. But really, it's between these two, and if they were to be replaced, we could have a great line up.

Not sure about Shinwari, though.

My lineup for series win would be:

Fakhar
Imam
Shan
Babar
Hafeez
Malik
Rizwan
Faheem
Shadab
Hassan
Shaheen

Shahee, Hassan, Faheem, Shadab with 10 each, and Malik & Hafeez with 5-5 each.

Our batting is effectively uptil 9 batsmen. This depth can provide us the lethal combination in terms of chase or stability in terms of 4 out for 30.

Play the same team, Hasan will need to sit this one out as all the bowlers have bowled pretty well today and will be harsh to drop any one of them. Also Hasan's bowling hasn't been much different to Amir's in a while in ODIs and both have been struggling to find form. Hasan leaks runs more than Amir but can slog a few while batting whereas Amir is more composed and can form crucial partnerships with top order batsmen.

I know it will not happen after today but I would have liked to see Masood come in for FZ.

take a look at hasan ali in this series.

i wouldn't call that struggling to find form.

he bowled poorly in the uae, i agree but overseas he has done decent

most important of all, he picks up the wickets

Yup, let's sit the player in the series decider who has the following scores in this series:

71* off 63 balls
9 off 11 balls
52 off 45 balls

Can some1 post the Cape town stats plz. Is that the place where the ball swings big under lights and it's a case of win the toss win the game ( the place where Jimmy owned us in the world cup)??
That would just be unfair

I have looked at his stats during this series and that's why I have said it.

Shaheen 5 wickets 3 matches
Usman 4 wickets 2 matches
Hasan 2 wickets 3 matches
Amir 1 wicket 2 matches
Faheem 0 wicket 2 matches

He has averaged 53 up till now and has taken 1 more wicket than him in 1 more match. This is not good bowling and is same as Amir, but he has batted well.

To aome posters here. Hafiz can’t bowl remember but he makes it on batting merit.

I would have liked to see Shan in the team, but I can’t think of who he will replace for this. The series is still alive

Fair enough. Bring Shan in place of Imad. Get Hafeez & Malik to share quota of 5th bowler

Just take Amir out of the team.
He has been relegated from a new ball bowler to first change. Can't get any worse than that.
Hasan ali is faster than Amir and doesn't average 100 in 2018 so Hasan should replace Amir.

Really like the way we're building the squad. Shan on the bench is hungry to go, I'm sure.

A lot of very confident and big game players in the team.

Shan, Hasan, Talat, & Faheem.

That's one helluva bench man. Haris is injured otherwise he'd be here too.

Things looking really good Alhamdulillah.

Dunno if u're being sarcastic or not.

Talat and Faheem gave me that indication

I'm 99% sure that they'll go with the same team.

But IMO they should give Hassan a spot instead of Amir.

Some people are calling for Hafeez to get dropped. I don't really see that happening.

He has batted well in this series. Credit where it's due.

Probably gone to their local pir saab to pray for a SA win in the 5th ODI, so that they can go back to typing novels about how "their" team is trash.

😂 Aamir can be dropped for Hassan in the last one, honestly hasn't impressed one bit and Shinwari deserves his place in the final eleven after today's performance.

Shinwari's 4-for was the worst thing if that that gets him picked up again instead of Hassan. Because, South Africans aren't stupid and they know that he can't swing it back in, so they would milk him dry. We need a proper striker!

Can't wait. Really believe we can win it, I'll be chuffed if we win this match and heart broken if we lose.

I'd just make one change, bringing in Hasan Ali for Mohammad Amir. I know it's harsh as Amir didn't do too badly today, but Hasan Ali was doing good this series and looked to be in rhythm, and I think it will be better for the balance of our attack as SSA and UKS are both left handers just like Amir so Hasan Ali would add some variety. I was surprised Hasan Ali didn't play today, tbh, but the risk paid off as his replacement was MOM.

Hasan is not gonna be on the bench. He was just rested. Haris is gonna replace Talat.

Dunno if u're being sarcastic or not.

Talat and Faheem gave me that indication

What do you guys think about Talat? Should he keep his spot in the squad, if Haris comes back?

I think once Haris is fit, Faheem should go out. Talat is a good batting all-rounder and I back him to improve on the job.

Although Malik captained really well, it was a great chance to bed in a long term replacement even if it is only for the short term now - can’t help but think it’s an opportunity squandered.

Hafeez/Malik only work when the top three score 150 - if they aren’t going to bowl then we need to think of replacing one because in England the top three can go inside the first 10 and these two don’t have the game to bat long!

Before today I would have liked them to try Fakhar at 6 instead of Malik and Shan to open..

Be interesting to see if Hasan Ali comes back in for Amir as that's the only change I could possibly see happening.

Hasan Ali the bigger wicket taker but also a bit more erratic and can be very leaky sometimes. Amir is much more economical and provides more control. And if I had to guess, I'd think Malik probably goes with Amir.

I'd probably go with Hasan to get more variety and Hasan provides a good slog option at the lower order.

So far, 4 wins by chasing sides and 2 chases were fairly comfortable one (last one was a walk) - so, I go for a batting 1st win in decider. Don’t think, with the batting both team have in this series, 5 chasing win is fair😜. PAK looked to be the inspired side in last game & team responded to captain as well. Everyone is for PAK, so let me be the spoiler - SAF to win by 35 runs👍

PAK probably will go with same XI, but Hasan should be in XI - don’t know for whom. Imad bowled brilliantly, batted as well in 3rd game and Amir/UKS/Shaheen doesn’t deserve to be dropped. Shaheen has played 3 in a row, and last 2 games 45 hours apart, so I guess he’ll be rested, if so. No change in batting though.

For SAF, I think Oliviera will come back, but they need Markram to come - don’t know for whom, Hendricks has won a MoM. May be the Amla should be dropped because of couple of complete useless 100 & 50; but they won’t drop him for sure.

Hope Malik loses toss, because either captain will go for bowling first; but my winner is side batting first in decider.

I think once Haris is fit, Faheem should go out. Talat is a good batting all-rounder and I back him to improve on the job.

Talat should be kept around in the A team and NCA camps to be worked on. He needs to stop breaking his grip. Right now, there's no room for him with Hafeez and Malik occupying the lower middle order. He can come in after the 2019 WC given he fixes his flaws.

Faheem stays as the 5th pacer. Can't throw him away after investing so much time.

Series deciders are always high pressure and I'd like one of Babar and Imam to score a big 100 to prove that they can graduate and become world class players, and can perform at the biggest of stages

Time to wrap up the series in Cape Town, wish it was on a weekend, now I will only get to see the last 20 overs of the first innings. :(

We should go with the same team, in my opinion.

Yeah, Hasan and Shaheen. If they'd done that a year earlier, he'd be bowling with much better discipline by now.

What about Usman? Who should reistically be the 3rd pacer in your eyes?

Also, do Hafeez and Malik justify their places for now?

And, finally, Sarfraz or Malik for captain?

Usman, Amir, Faheem rotate depending on what the team needs.

They don't need to justify because they are not drop-able. Even if they don't play or score, the experience and calming presence they bring is needed for the young players.

Sarfaraz stays as captain but should always consult with Hafeez and Malik. They need to calm him down when things are not going well.

With captain useless being kicked out from the team i m sure it won't be easy for south africa to win the last match.i would go with same team

Whose bright idea was it to have the 4th ODI on a Sunday, but the series decider in the middle of the week?

I guess other boards can also be as incompetent as PCB.

They still have 3 T20s to play. And one is on Friday and one is on Sunday. No I don't think they are as bad as the PCB. I'm glad they had this game on a Sunday.

Disagree with the Sarfraz bit, as I think he's done, apart from maybe T20s.

But the rest sounds good.

Give Shan a chance instead of Fakhar, he's waited long enough. Also Get Faheem in for Imad depending on the pitch

Shoaib Malik is now captain and we cannot replace him otherwise I would like to replace him with Shan Masood

As it's a decider and our record is not that good we all know that SAF will really come hard at us and in my opinion it's better to go with Shan Masood up the order than Fakhar Zaman

1) Shan Masood
2) Imam Ul Haq
3) Babar Azam
4) Muhammad Hafeez
5) Shoaib Malik
6) Muhammad Rizwan
7) Shadab Khan
8) Imad Wasim
9) Hasan Ali
10) Shaheen Shah Afridi
11) Usman Khan Shinwari (Better to give him a bit old ball)

I predicted 3-2 to SA before the start, so I am sticking with it now even after their impressive performance series in this series, only because SA are playing home and most umpiring decisions go in their favor.
I would replace Shinwari with Hasan

Cape Town - Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis revealed that a few tired bodies in the South African camp is a concern following their thrashing by Pakistan at the Wanderers on Sunday.

A terrible batting collapse saw the Proteas bundled out for 164 in 41 overs at the Bullring.

Pakistan cruised to their target with 111 balls to spare as the tourists won by 8-wickets and broke the Proteas' unbeaten PinkDay winning streak.

The series is no all square at 2-2 with the decider set for Cape Town on Wednesday.

Du Plessis assessed the Proteas performance as 'average' and believes he is gaining further insights for the Cricket World Cup in May.

"There was some average cricket from us, but some very good cricket from Pakistan. It's tough to look at the positives," Du Plessis told reporters in Johannesburg.

"I'm picking up lots of valuable lessons about the balance of the side, looking at what we're missing at the moment. Even though we are losing, I assume the younger guys are getting a lot of experience. I can speak for myself, even when losing, there's clarity on how I see us moving forward with the team."

Following Pakistan's tour, Sri Lanka visits South Africa for two Tests, 5 ODIs and three T20s with the Indian Premier League starting in March before the Cricket World Cup in England.

"That's in the back of my mind when I can see that some of the guys are tired, mentally and physically," said Du Plessis.

"It's a balancing act, we've got a big game that's coming up but it's really important that we also make sure that we have guys getting enough game time as well.

"I think we're going to try and rest the Test squad players for the T20s. Right now, I can see that there's a few tired bodies on the field and that's a concern."

Pakistan has been South Africa’s bogey team in LOIs since that 2012 t20 WC. After that we’ve always given them a run for their money even in their own backyard, only slip up was in UAE.

Can any other Asian team do that?

This could be a huge win and morale booster for Pakistan

Rizwan should bat at 4 with Malik and Hafeez at 5/6 respectively , Hafeez can hit it out in the end with Imad for a good par score.

Drop Fakhar for Shan and Amir for Faheem

Drop Fakhar for Shan and Amir for Faheem
Fakhar was lucky on few occassions in the last match and I do not think he will get lucky this time, he still plays some silly and risky shots. Shan may not hit as many boundaries but will at least keep the scoreboard ticking with 1s and 2s and prevent collapse. There will be no change in team I think.

Drop Amir for anyone with two hand and legs. Shan should replace fakhar...the rest looks fine.

I'd have Hasan for Amir.
I also want Shan but i am not sure who he can replace. And if he doesn't perform in this match he will dropped for all the other upcoming series without having another chance i feel.

Bad news.
He' ll probably end up as a legend with 50+,5fer and Motm award.

They had a packed house for 4th ODI and now people will be forced to come because its the decider. Nice planning imo.
