Spin-bowling talent of Afghanistan

We keep on talking about fast bowling talent in Pakistan but what about spin talent in Afghanistan? For a country which has recently started playing cricket, they have a lot of spin talent in their ranks: Qais, Noor, The guy who took 7 wickets in a game in U19 WC, Waqar Salamkheil, Mujeeb and obviously the superstar Rashid. They can spring a few surprises in next T20 WC and 50 over WC in India if they qualify.

He might not be 16 but at least he looks U19 unlike most of Afghan U19 players.

They have the best spinners in the world, it’s a fact. They probably have another 10 more somewhere in Kabul. Their spinners could walk into any international team.

There are around 12 emerging fast bowlers in PSL but no quality spinners.PCB and PSL franchises should send scouts around the country to find young spinners.

Its shocking that Pakistan has never had an international chinaman bowler since the 1950s whereas Afghanistan already have a couple even in their short history

they're definitely good spinners, but massively helped by the fact that t20 leagues give them tonnes of exposure against what are (especially in the case of the psl) very fragile batting line ups.

rashid khan is the only consistently international class spinner afg have, and all these guys (that ive seen) barring rashid would likely struggle in pak domestic 4 day cricket, and that's pretty much the only historic pathway of developing specialist spinners in pak.

They are good shorter formats and on pitches that aid spin.

Rashid Khan has been an inspiration to many of these young spinners.

He started the ball rolling and has shown what can be achieved if you have talent and want to work hard as a spinner.
