Sri Lanka Tour to Pak on UK TV?

Hi. (Had look but couldn't find a thread on this already.)

Does anyone know if any UK satellite channels will be showing the Sri Lanka tour about to start in Pakistan?

Sony MAX UK
@sonymaxuk
The players are pumped and the atmosphere is nothing less than that of a festivital!

Set your alarm’s for 11am on 27th Sept to experience it live all in HD with the 1st ODI of #PAKvSL on #SonyMAXUK! @OfficialSLC @TheRealPCB#PAKvSL #Pakistan #SriLanka #cricket

The live action will be available to cricket fans across the globe. The three ODIs in Karachi and the three T20Is in Lahore will be broadcast on Sony Ten (Indian sub-continent), Ten Cricket (Singapore, Hong Kong, Middle East and Northbound Africa and Caribbean), Astro (Malaysia), Willow (USA), Sony UK (UK and Europe) Fox (Australia), DAZN (Canada) and Super Sports (Sub Saharan Africa including South Africa)

you know things are not great when the best commentator is Bazid Khan....

Bazid Khan is actually getting much better than most around in pak .... he talks sense and is actually at times funny (unlike rameez who laughs alone on his own jokes)

Problem is OSN has discontinued all the Desi channels, including the channels broadcasting Cricket/Sports.
MenInG you reside in UAE (I think). Any info how to watch the matches here in the Middle East?

Any news about who is broadcasting in Canada?
Willow TV is showing only in USA and not Canada

Highest quality broadcast coverage of Pakistan v Sri Lanka Test series planned

• Bazid Khan: “Time for everyone to savour the moment and also celebrate the moment”

• Russel Arnold: “I am quite excited about the return of Test cricket to a nation where the sport is loved and we feel a lot of love from the people”

Rawalpindi, 9 December 2019:

The return of Test cricket to Pakistan after a 10-year gap will be heralded by outstanding broadcast coverage from the PCB’s broadcast partner, Ten Sports.

Fans will be able to get close to the action thanks to a 23-camera production in High Definition.

Those cameras will include two super slo spin vision cameras and an ultra-high speed camera. There will also be stump cameras, Hawkeye ball-tracking and ultra-motion, and the Decision Review System will be in operation.

Before and after play each day there will be the hugely popular Straight Drive show with a lively mix of analysis and entertainment.

And the commentary team who will bring the action to life will be the vastly experienced quintet of Ramiz Raja, Bazid Khan, Roshan Abeysinghe, Russel Arnold and Danny Morrison.

The commentators will be supplemented by a group of back-room professionals from all over the world behind the scenes, all of them vastly experienced in ensuring the highest quality of coverage for the historic series that features two Tests between the hosts and Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi (11-15 December) and Karachi (19-23 December).

“Well, all that comes to an end now and here’s to new beginning forever may it last!

Bazid Khan was equally excited, when he said: “Feels unreal that a test match is going to happen at a 20-minute drive. The real deal, that is Test cricket, returns. Fittingly, its Sri Lanka who return.

“Just cannot wait for the umpire to call play, goosebumps. Time for everyone to savour the moment and also celebrate the moment.”

Sri Lanka’s former Test batsman and respected commentator, Russel Arnold, said: “Pakistan has been one of my favourite places to tour ... the sights, experiences you would not get anywhere else.

“I am quite excited about the return of Test cricket to a nation where the sport is loved and we feel a lot of love from the people. Looking forward to feeling at home once again.”

Meanwhile, broadcast coverage of the upcoming ICC World Test Championship matches will be available in the following territories:

• Asia/ Middle East and UK – Sony and Ten Channels
• Australia – Fox Sports
• Canada – Dazn
• Caribbean – Ten Cricket
• Malaysia – Astro
• North America – Willow
• Pakistan – Ten Sports and PTV
• Sub Saharan Africa – Super Sports

The matches will also be live-streamed through sonyliv.com (website & the app) and will be available in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan versus Sri Lanka 2nd Test Match Advice

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had been to the Karachi stadium and has any tips for me ? I want to go watch the 2nd test match as I will be travelling from CA ( luckily , super excited ! )

Are there any tips/advice people can share with me ? Anything to enhance my viewing ? It will actually be my first time seeing Pakistan play in person.

I was trying to buy the ticket from online and they asked me for CNC number, which i believe is a pakistani ID . I dont have one , but I do have a NICOP. I am not sure if this is required if I buy the tickets in person, or maybe have someone from Pakistan buy it for me ?

Thanks !

The NICOP serves the same purpose as a CNIC, you can buy tickets with that.

You can buy tickets from the website and just use your NICOP. I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to get tickets on the ground as well but better safe than sorry.

Also make sure you don't take anything like camera's, powerbanks, cards or amything. Just your NICOP, phone and some money (and of course the tickets).

Awesome ! Any particular stands to sit at to get the best action at the Karachi stadium ?

Unfortunately, all stands at NSK have the 'cage' blocking the view but you can go for one of the stands closest to the pavilion like the Miandad enclosure which should have a good view.

How can foreigners without CNC/NICOP purchase tickets...?

If you have an acquaintance in Pakistan, you can get it through them. Lemme know if you need further details.

Also wondering this , since my wife doesn't have CNC/NICOP

You can buy up to 5 tickets per NICOP, so you could buy it for her as well.

Good quality TV transmission and excellent coverage - well done to all!
