How does Khushdil have a 40+ average in List A with a strike rate above 90? How! It is beyond me! Says a lot about the quality of our domestic tournaments.

Rotation of strike is big problem in Pak cricket. Most if these guys are not good enough for Int'l level. A sorry state of affairs.

A few players from the team have the potential to play for Pakistan, them being:

Talat, Gohar, Mudassar and Mir

To be fair he is coming off some good domestic performances.

He was starting to get some real hype on PP due to his domestic statistics, but as the majority know Pakistan domestic statistics almost never reflect the truth.
 
I have never seen him bat but was Saad Ali a better option? Can't go by stats alone after watching Khushdil bat. Maybe Saud Shakil...?

Saad Ali looks classy but I haven't seen him up against any quality bowling lineups.

Saud and Badar are both quality stroke makers but struggle with strike rotation as do most modern Pakistani batsman.
 
First impressions of Khushdil. Quite mediocre but need to see more of him.

one thing about which i am 100% sure is that never rely on a batsman from kpk....in pak u will get quality batsaman from karachi or lahore but not kpk due to poor batting culture....here people just know afridi ..no gross root coaching ..tape ball cricket ....

there was big gap between bat and pad...lets accept these players here can either hit a six like afridi or tuk tuk like MISBAH... but cant rotate strike and play easy cricket...

out of all these selected saad ali, saud are more deserving and sami aslam should have been sent in as captain...

Pak fans need to stop hyping nobodies. Our batting is dead & buried. These guys can't even buy runs in Asian conditions.
 
hammad azam played good knocks in the first two games but still he bats at no.7 ... bilal asif is coming at no.3 and opening for pak while hammad azam comes in at no.7 lol ....is like arsal sheikh playing ahead of shadab khan for his political connections....

go watch some old videos of Razzaq and then Usama's innings today some similarities in batting

Why did they opted to bat first on a rain interrupted match? Besides, one should never bat first in D/N game in CTG!!!!!!

till now i was thinking SRL won the toss and elected to field in order to use the moisture and the dew factor if any in a D/N game.... well whatever even if they have batted second these tape ball batsmen would've fallen like the same anyhow..

Rizwan, Haris, Talat and Imran are supposed to be our top-tier batsmen, Hammad Azam our first-choice pace all rounder in ODIs, Bilal Asif, Zafar Gohar and Usama Mir our top tier spin choices. The only newcomers are Khushdil, Ghulam and Sameen. Yet this is what we achieve?

Kudos to PCB for dragging our cricket to standards miles below those of West Indies and Sri lanka, with at least ten times the combined funds in their coffers and a hundred times the fan following and patriotism.

In case you forgot to notice this was the freaking final of the tournament. BD and Ind didn't even manage to reach here.

India sent an F grade team for this tournament. Open the Cricinfo profiles of the players in their team, and you will see for yourself. As for Bangladesh, they are still transitioning from minnowhood to big leagues, but I'll take your point for them nevertheless.

But the point of concern is not how we compare with others, but rather how we perform as an individual unit. 133 all out is pathetic and below par against any opposition on any pitch under any circumstances, given 7/11 are our first choice players.

The roots of mediocrity lie in holding on to excuses such as these in times of turmoil, yet boasting our hearts out for the little successes we manage to garner.

The match isn't over yet, and there is a chance that we may steal a win, but our bowling has rescued us more often than not, it's the batting that needs attention, and if the batting continues to be below par for generations after generations, there is a problem with the system in place.

Apart from 1 or 2 all of them are rubbish and PCB should look for new ones. Talat is huge disappoinment, Haris is finished, Rizwan no international material, Khusdil is below club level batsman, Imam is ok but Imran is another rubbish.
Mudassar and Sameen may be ok. But nothing special
 
This batch of Sri Lankan team has great future. I rate this U-23 team is capable to beat Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka (main eleven), WI easily

Haris Sohail, List A avg 41
Talat - List A avg 50
Rizwan - List A avg 38.

Mind naming alternatives for them from domestics? Also Imam is far from OK. Have you recently had a look at his SR?

Average is useless if you can't perform in International matches. What do you mean Imam is far from ok?
 
poor captaincy from rizo..how did he continue with ghulam??/usama shuld have bben introduced earlier..

Poor coaching at the juinor level .
Looks like playing hard ball cricket isnt natural for these guys with their block and slog approach . Hardly any authentic stroke players.
