May be he felt there was a nick. It has happened before. Once happened to kaarthik. Looked like ball didn't touch the ball at all. Even snicko hardly showed a spike. But Karthik admitted he nicked it and accepted the decision.
We are the idiots who blow a normal reaction of a batsman way out of proportion.
Howcome there is no 'feeling' of touching the ball when the appeal is for a catch?

Why only for LBW?

Its time batsman were allowed to be 'human' just like the umpire. Gamini made one of the world decisions today against Yuvraj, and Yuvi was right to stand aghast and show his bat. Come on, what else will get the message across to someone as thick as Gamini? Similarly, if Tendu feels like a sitting duck every time he walks out to bat, he shouldnt be blamed for showing his emotions in a restrained manner. I dont think any umpire can complain that Tendu was rude or intimidating.

I added a line . He once walked when he was not out thinking he had an edge. It is upto you to trust or not. I trust him. You don't trust him. end of story. Pointless to analyze this.

Another horrible wide call. Dhoni collects the ball on the off side lol umpire is giving legside wide.

In ODIs everything down the legside is called a wide. It does not matter if the batsman shuffled across the wickets.

Not if the ball goes over the stump and end up on the off side. It can start on the leg side.

Of course I don't trust him. I am not a blind supporter of anybody. I trust people based on their track-record. And I am not anybody's keeper.

But are you talking about the episode against Pakistan when Shoaib was giving him a hard time? :akhtar

We basically disagree. I am not going to convince you and vice versa. So why waste our energy over nothing :P . Especially in the 90s he would not even hesitate even if he was not out. He would just walk once the umpire raises the finger. But over a period he got so many bad decisions. It really pissed us off that he was walking like a lame duck without even showing slight dissent

So he started doing it just to please you people?

for the life of me I dont have a clue what Arun lol is saying
is he on the same planet as the rest of us?

That's called stretching the quote to fit the frame :P
Oh it was just a joke. And not related to the discussion at all. :)

The point we were discussing was not showing dissent but selective helping the umpire on the part of Sachin.

He sometimes fails to realize he is not working for discovery channel.

You can say that when he does every single instant when he gets caught.

One man's selective helping is another's dissent
Yeh bhi joke hai :inzi

Yeah, but you do realize it's a little hard to pretend you didn't hit the ball when you get caught at the boundary for instance. You never know with Tendulkar though.
:ibutt

sri lankan crowd getting unruly
someone throws somethign at Ishant and it hits him on the back of his neck. looks ok but ***??

Sri Lanka need a few boundaries here. Looks like Ishant has been hit by a missile from the crowd and he informs the umpire. Both umpires make their way to the boundary, where Ishant was fielding.

Can someone provide updates? What's going on?

the offending object has been identified as a nut, and arun lal says a nut was thrown by a nutcase. jokes aside, metal can hurt badly if aimed hard, and indian team is not happy

so what you've got waqar, india's got Arun Lal.
If he says it's a nutcase, it is a nutcase.

He got leg before last match similarly. Did he show his bat? This is just a non-existing conspiracy theory.

So Sri Lanka AND Pakistan will be declared unsafe to host the World Cup then?

Shameful attitude by Lankan fans. They should have tried to emulate the mature way Indian fans took their World Cup 96 semifinal defeat to the Lankans.

Call it a conspiracy theory if you must. But don't say it's non-existing, on account of the fact that it does exist.

All i have to do is... change non-existing to existing and does exist to doest not exist. That is exactly why i said it is pointless to make a big deal about it.

Sri Lanka recovering well but Req run rate is going up, One of these two batters will need to get a ton!

When the overs are less run rate of 7.5 can be brought down dramatically with one big over.
SL is favorites from here on to win the match.

asking rate up to nearly 8, don't know about Kandamby's hitting prowess. Some one will have to take the long handle here.

Kandamby seems Ranatunga like in appearance and execution. And that's his 2nd 50 in ODIs

I wouldn't say easily cause the players left to come, India favourites in my book at the moment
