Kusal Perera should be MOM for 2 reasons.

1) His batting. He was under pressure and the selectors were considering dropping him but they gave him one more chance. He took that with both hands and scored a significant 50 for both SL and his career.

2)He put his body on the line and dived left, right and centre. I'm sure he's saved 15 runs in the 2nd innings alone.

I think England have changed their attitude to batting and that's a good sign. Most of the middle-order failed, but unlike in the past, they seemed determined to score at above the required run-rate, so at least it's not the case that everyone from No. 5 downwards was walking into lost cause.
