Very well said, every team gets a bad patch, or is in a rebuilding phase, with them sri lanka will get better, also as you mentioned certain teams, that were not so great do evolve and get better.

their fielding is school boy level poor. guys like dilshan were electric in their time. this unit looks disinterested and even though they get outplayed some times, other times, it appears as if they don't just want to compete. Plus the lack of big players is extremely crucial here. there is only matthews, thisara and probably malinga, and matthews is no leader. he may perform well but he can't get the guys to play and march in unison. Plus matthews has too much in his plate to take care of than to lead his team properly. He has to bat well, field well, bowl as well(which he doesn't now), and his body is as brittle as a deck of cards.

Very disheartning to see to be honest, I hope they sort things out in time for the World Cup. It seems like everyone is coasting, am not sure if there any issues with the board and the players but historically they have not been paid well either. With the departure of legends and no real leadership or cult like figure in the team am afraid morale must be at an all time low. Malinga is fighting a lonely battle as the old gun slinger
