Starting to lose interest in Pakistan cricket

It has just gotten boring for me
I don't remember the last time when I didn't want pakistan play an odi even though I can watch if I want to if that makes sense.
I just wasn't interested in the odi series at all.
It's the same old team with the same old failures.

We need new faces

So the latest report is that Hafeez could be made captain of the ODI team.

This in conjunction with the likes of Azhar Ali to be made Test captain. Not to mention the recall of the chosen ones by the saviour himself.

Just some the the things that are making the loyal fans lose interest.

Ive been watch pakistan since 1987 and have to say since 2007 things have got worse every 4 year cycles, mistake upon mistake with coaches, selectors recycling same rubbish players. After each farce of an ODI world cup we keep making same stupid decisions with captaincy. The test team is now a shambles to, due to no longterm planning, PCB is so poor and gutless with its decisions, its no wonder we are becoming a minnow in all formats.

I know some of us fan need to write it out that we are losing interest to make ourselves believe that. In reality, we are all still continuing to watch and follow domestic and international games. If you were really losing interest, you wouldn't be here typing about it. I can understand if the fans are angry with the performance, but losing interest? I doubt it.

I will watch big tournaments.... and hope....
There is no point watching anything else as I don't feel the team and the current management will give 100% to win games. in essence they are all meaning less games including the Cricket World Test championship.

I started following Pakistan cricket in 1992, and after that only watched the 1996 and 1999 WCs before following the team regularly from 2003.
Even with a busy life with job, family, children and other commitments I allways tried to be updated on Pak cricket.

But for the first time I have started to lose interest in Pakistan cricket. It is not like I will not support them but there is no joy at the moment, all the scandals, no good players coming out etc.
Not interested in PSL this time around either, have only watched one over here and one there.

Let's see if this is only for time being.

I wrote this back in 2017, and 8 years later I have exact same feeling.

Now just months after my post Pakistan won CT, and that was of course great to experience as a fan, but now again I just can't turn on TV to watch PSL, i just feel the quality is not there. Let's see if we can win another big international trophy soon to feel a bit better

Pakistan were an exciting team till around 2019 WC.

Once likes of Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi etc. retired, Pakistan's brand of cricket changed.
