There has been always a debate regarding which player adds more value to his team. Its gets interesting when contrasting style of players goes head to head like Misbah vs Afridi. Misbah has good Average but low Strike Rate, where as Afridi has low Average but great Strike Rate.
I tried to minimize the different era gap by taking rest of the team's performance into account.

I selected some random players for the table below.
P.Avg - Players Avg , P.SR - Players - SR
R.SR - Rest of the team's Strike Rate where the player played.
R.Avg - Team's average where player's played.
Bat Index - Batting Quality Index = Avg Factor * SR Factor * 100
(giving equal weightage to SR and Avg)

Players like Zaheer Abbas and Viv Richards are far ahead in comparison with the rest of teammates. No one other on the list comes close to them.
Some top Australian players like Gilchrist , Ponting etc are lower on the list because they were a part of a very strong squad.

Note - Since most of the data entries were done by hand there is a chance of error.

Good effort but i dont see how this formula can denote a batsmans ability or his importance to his team

Take a case of player like Misbah with higher average but lower Strike Rate. So he is scoring for the team but at a lower pace. But what about the performance of rest of the 10 players , if they too perform as well Misbah then Misbah won't be adding much to the team. But in his case his average is 1.5 times (150 %) other players , but has only 10% slower in strike rate in comparison to other players. Combining both factor he comes out in good light at par with someone as good as Inzamam-ul-haq.

Conversely Player like Shahid Afridi value to the team is increased because of exceptional Strike Rate compensating a his lower Average. He has better batting index than his fellow AR Abdul Razzaq.

I think its good information , but couple of things I would add to make it meaningful .

Players from strong and batting heavy linups wont show up in your stats cos the stats are relative to how good or bad rest of the batting lineup is .
Thats the reason Oz greats Gilchrist and Ponting are missing from the list , its not just these two but they also had likes of Hayden , Symmonds , Beven etc who all had high averages and strike rates .

I would suggest add opposition batsmens stats too

So Afridi comes out higher placed than (Steve) Smith, Gilly and Ponting? :broad
Australian squad has players that could compensate loss of the players the caliber of Smith. Warner beats Smith too by good margin. Despite all criticism Afridi the batsman gave decent value to Pak team. Probably a big reason why he played so many ODI's.

Excellent effort bro!
May be you can also add averages of each ones era and strike rates of players at that time like from all the teams, just to check the impact they had on game instead of just on their teams.

I have revised the table to include opponents stats into the table , As a result most of the players from stronger teams moved up where as players from weaker teams of the time went down.

Zaheer Abaas drops top spot to Viv Richards. Afridi drops few places too as a result

Should also keep a 100 innings threshold to remove players like Abbas and more importantly, Warner. They haven't played as much and a few good series (at home in Warner's case) inflate their average and SR quite a bit.

This table is otherwise pretty accurate though. Viv at #1, AB at #2 and Bevan, Amla, Sachin, Dhoni and Anwar should be the other top names in any chart showcasing batting prowess in ODIs.
