Any fans out there?
What do you think of season 2 compared to season 1?
Season 1 was good
Season 2 was a copy of Season 1 with the addition of Sam from the Shire.
Over all its a good show but I do think it's quite over rated.
It's a really good show, something different; an 80s throwback which was been updated for modern times. There was some repetition this season but they are still doing some universe building so am hoping we get to see more, it depends on what you prefer; option 1 where you get 2 or 3 high calibre seasons or option 2 where you drag things a little bit, not give too much and build to a satisfying pay off. These days option 2 is more lucrative, at times quality can be compensated for longevity; the advantage for me I'd say is that the show doesn't end so soon, the negative is that there could be times where repetition or filler content is an issue, so far I don't think it has been an issue for me personally. Breaking Bad was a unique show in that it got better and better each season, not many series out there that are great 5 seasons on the trot but even then like I'd still prefer it, beyond 5 very rare that you"ll get something decent. I think Netflix will get at least 5 seasons out of Stranger Things, it's a big draw for them.
Hmm yea I don't mind the show. I mean I've watched all the episodes so far and am planning to watch the next season in 2019 InshAllah. However, I know some people who absolutely rave about it, which - for me at least - is a bit of a stretch.
I really enjoyed Season 1, but I think that was because I watched it without knowing/hearing much about the show, so there was no hype or expectation. By the time Season 2 came around there was so much hype and expectation that I think it was almost destined to fail.
I also found Eleven really annoying for majority of Season 2, and then "The Lost Sister" completely took the winds out the sail for the show. I felt that Eleven in Season 2 was similar to Carl in the Walking Dead. Incidentally Carl is the reason I stopped watching Walking Dead...At the end of the day both seasons were about Will be kidnapped, the guys trying to save him and in the end Eleven 'closing the gate'
The only thing I really liked in Season 2 was Bob. I quite liked his character and how it developed - shame about how it ended![]()
I've started watching Gotham these days and then hoping to watch Punisher after that - you seen either of those shows? If you're a Batman fan then Gotham is worth a watch and I've heard good things about Punisher.
True there was a lot of hype for season 2 and I don't think they were ever going to live up to those expectations but if you ignore them then season 2 was fine but I agree with you about the narrative, it was one of my concerns to; like where do they go from here? in essence the story was similar although they bought in new characters to play the role of the heel, the faces remained and we got more of glimpse into the upside down. I still think there are potentially more stories to tell, there's unfinished business in the upside down and there's the long lost sister as well so they could be talking points in season 3. lol Bob I wonder whyhe was very good at electronics and electrical engineering
Gotham has been a guilty pleasure of mine, gave up on Arrow/Flash but because I love Bats continue to watch it and tbh the season has been getting better and better, have not kept tabs on the most recent season, think it is out already? usually I wait for all the episodes to release and then binge watch them, that in itself shows that the show is great because those episodes are long and in total there are about 20 episodes in the season I think. Punisher I expect to be very very good but have not checked it out yet, Vikings / Black Sails are others you need to give a go !
There was a point during the Walking Dead that I tuned out, must have been when the angle surrounding the governor ended loved him lol Carl was annoying man at times I just wanted to slap him through my TV screen, I tuned out around season 4 for a long time then last year got back into it and finished season 5. Will get back to the show at some point, it's quality when they get it right but it does have its ups and downs. My all time favourite is LOST but that may not be everyone's cup of tea, in its prime though the popularity compares to GOT imo
What is this show about?
Stranger things
Season 1 was awesome. Season 2 not as good, but still a nice series except for that bizarre episode 7.

What do you think of season 2 compared to season 1?
Yea lets see where Season 3 goes. Personally I don't have the patience so hope its a bit faster paced.
he came straight from the shire to solve problems man - whats not to like!
I'm on Episode 12 of Season 1 of Gotham and so far its been pretty decent. Yea I'm the same - I prefer to binge watch too. I'm currently waiting for the current season of Designated Survivor to be released so I can binge on that
Yea I got half way through Season 4 and go so fed up of Caaaarrrlllll (and more importantly Rick running after Carl only to be attacked by walkers) that I gave up on it.
I never managed to get into Lost and I'm saving GOT for later on - not entirely sure what. Maybe a time when the likes of Afridi and Roman cannot grace our TV screens in the BPL and Monday Night RAW respectively![]()
Awful copycat show, extremely overrated just because there are some kids in there, just like how IT was.
That was bizarre. It was like I was watching a totally different series.
It should end now. Season 1 was good... but it took 4 episodes in the second season to get going. There is nothing left in this story. All very reminiscent of Lost....
Which show did they copy?
They copied most elements from every 80s movie/tv show which makes it highly unoriginal. Season 1 was basically a huge rip off of ET, kept 11 like they kept ET away from the authorities.
Just seems like one of those shows to cater to viewers that enjoy IT which wasn’t even scary.
I think that was the whole point of the show to bring back the nostalgia of the 80s with ET, Goonies and IT and they did nail it to perfection
Yep, it's a homage, not a copy
Have recently got round to watching this. Having watched True Detective Season 1 before this, I had high expectations. Thought it was terrific and made a fan out of me.
At first it seemed like 80s sci-fi cliches rehashed as the plot points and characters weren't unique (geeky kids, rebellious teenagers, cartoony school bullies). However I stuck with it and enjoyed it.
It does a great job of making a viewer try to piece the parts of the puzzle together in the search for Will - what is the purpose of the lab's experiments ? Why is Eleven so traumatised and what's her backstory ? Where are her parents ? Where is Will and what's the link between electricity and the Upside Down ? How was this monster created and what is the Upside Down ?
This show isn't just about Eleven, there are a diverse range of characters all of whom have their quirks and eccentricities. Heck, I detested Steve but even he redeems himself as a character later on.
The two main adult characters played by Winona Ryder and David Harbour provide gravitas and were superb. The child actors were warm, humane and genuinely funny. Eleven's limited dialogue makes her words more impactful and is easy to sympathise with her small physical stature and terrified demeanour. Being a fellow Liverpool fan also helps.
I look forward to watching Season 2 which introduces new characters and another monster. The show gets an 8/10 from me.

Saw the first season, was good but the finale was underwhelming. Going by the reviews Season 2 was almost the same but inferior, can't be bothered. Unlike movies, TV series need more patience and dedication as the plot unravels at a slower pace but there is more opportunity for character/story development. Don't really have the time at the moment for such shows.
I guess you are not a Sci Fi fan?
this is possibly the best thing since the invention of the tv.
Ok it’s getting a bit repetitive
Wait until you watch Dark.
I loved Season 3.Looking forward to 4.
I still cant get over Hopper's death. The letter to El made me teary.I have a weird feeling that he is alive and is the American prisoner. He has to be.How can they make the next season without him.
it look likly, just saw hopkins recent pictures, he has a big beard and looks like a russian prisoner
but it could also be el's papa who we found out in S2 is still alive and how else could the russians found out about a secret cia project in hawkins
Wait until you watch Dark.
Season 3 is very dark compared to the other 2.

Uma Thurman’s daughter is quite delightful

I loved the first two seasons. They were a breath of fresh air, but I've begun watching Season 3 and it's disappointing.
Everyone is playing to their character stereotype a bit too much - Dustin's an unloved geek, Steve is a loser, Nancy is a victim of sexism, Mike and Eleven are lovebirds, poor Will still has premonitions etc.
And now the Russians are coming ! Not sure how they've pulled this extraordinary scientific feat in 1985 when Chernobyl went kablooee the following year.
What I do like is the theme of the decline of high (main) street and big retailers gobbling up small businesses. That's still relevant today.
Yeah, sure, acting, totally!Indeed. I’m a big fan of hers now...
I guess her acting is good too![]()
The teaser supports the theory that Hopper hopped into the upside down before the explosion.
