Any fans out there?

What do you think of season 2 compared to season 1?

I absolutely enjoyed it, this season was better than the last one imo. Stronger plot, solid cast and demons in this season were fantastic, it sets up for the next season too.

Easily my second fav show this year after punisher.

Season 1 was awesome. Season 2 not as good, but still a nice series except for that bizarre episode 7.

If you thought season one was good, then season two will blow your mind. Best Netflix series to date.

Love it. More enjoyable than watching the usual overhyped shows. Short & snappy seasons. S3 has been announced.

Not as exciting as first one, seems stretched some times, still very good entertainment.

Season 1 was good

Season 2 was a copy of Season 1 with the addition of Sam from the Shire.

Over all its a good show but I do think it's quite over rated.

It's a really good show, something different; an 80s throwback which was been updated for modern times. There was some repetition this season but they are still doing some universe building so am hoping we get to see more, it depends on what you prefer; option 1 where you get 2 or 3 high calibre seasons or option 2 where you drag things a little bit, not give too much and build to a satisfying pay off. These days option 2 is more lucrative, at times quality can be compensated for longevity; the advantage for me I'd say is that the show doesn't end so soon, the negative is that there could be times where repetition or filler content is an issue, so far I don't think it has been an issue for me personally. Breaking Bad was a unique show in that it got better and better each season, not many series out there that are great 5 seasons on the trot but even then like I'd still prefer it, beyond 5 very rare that you"ll get something decent. I think Netflix will get at least 5 seasons out of Stranger Things, it's a big draw for them.

It should end now. Season 1 was good... but it took 4 episodes in the second season to get going. There is nothing left in this story. All very reminiscent of Lost....

Good show but a bit overrated, Millie's screams (in the dream sequence) are annoying as well as Pappaw.

Hmm yea I don't mind the show. I mean I've watched all the episodes so far and am planning to watch the next season in 2019 InshAllah. However, I know some people who absolutely rave about it, which - for me at least - is a bit of a stretch.

I really enjoyed Season 1, but I think that was because I watched it without knowing/hearing much about the show, so there was no hype or expectation. By the time Season 2 came around there was so much hype and expectation that I think it was almost destined to fail.

At the end of the day both seasons were about Will be kidnapped, the guys trying to save him and in the end Eleven 'closing the gate'
I also found Eleven really annoying for majority of Season 2, and then "The Lost Sister" completely took the winds out the sail for the show. I felt that Eleven in Season 2 was similar to Carl in the Walking Dead. Incidentally Carl is the reason I stopped watching Walking Dead...

The only thing I really liked in Season 2 was Bob. I quite liked his character and how it developed - shame about how it ended :P

I've started watching Gotham these days and then hoping to watch Punisher after that - you seen either of those shows? If you're a Batman fan then Gotham is worth a watch and I've heard good things about Punisher.

True there was a lot of hype for season 2 and I don't think they were ever going to live up to those expectations but if you ignore them then season 2 was fine but I agree with you about the narrative, it was one of my concerns to; like where do they go from here? in essence the story was similar although they bought in new characters to play the role of the heel, the faces remained and we got more of glimpse into the upside down. I still think there are potentially more stories to tell, there's unfinished business in the upside down and there's the long lost sister as well so they could be talking points in season 3. lol Bob I wonder why :)) he was very good at electronics and electrical engineering :afridi

Gotham has been a guilty pleasure of mine, gave up on Arrow/Flash but because I love Bats continue to watch it and tbh the season has been getting better and better, have not kept tabs on the most recent season, think it is out already? usually I wait for all the episodes to release and then binge watch them, that in itself shows that the show is great because those episodes are long and in total there are about 20 episodes in the season I think. Punisher I expect to be very very good but have not checked it out yet, Vikings / Black Sails are others you need to give a go !

There was a point during the Walking Dead that I tuned out, must have been when the angle surrounding the governor ended loved him lol Carl was annoying man at times I just wanted to slap him through my TV screen, I tuned out around season 4 for a long time then last year got back into it and finished season 5. Will get back to the show at some point, it's quality when they get it right but it does have its ups and downs. My all time favourite is LOST but that may not be everyone's cup of tea, in its prime though the popularity compares to GOT imo

Yea lets see where Season 3 goes. Personally I don't have the patience so hope its a bit faster paced.

:)) he came straight from the shire to solve problems man - whats not to like!

I'm on Episode 12 of Season 1 of Gotham and so far its been pretty decent. Yea I'm the same - I prefer to binge watch too. I'm currently waiting for the current season of Designated Survivor to be released so I can binge on that :)

Yea I got half way through Season 4 and go so fed up of Caaaarrrlllll (and more importantly Rick running after Carl only to be attacked by walkers) that I gave up on it.

I never managed to get into Lost and I'm saving GOT for later on - not entirely sure what. Maybe a time when the likes of Afridi and Roman cannot grace our TV screens in the BPL and Monday Night RAW respectively :afridi

Gotham is average at best..i have watched 3 series now.Not planning S4 for some time.

Awful copycat show, extremely overrated just because there are some kids in there, just like how IT was.

That was bizarre. It was like I was watching a totally different series.

Heard they were planning a spinoff of the show in that direction. Hence the plug in. After the harsh criticism they might shelve that

The creators have said they were always targeting 3-4 seasons max

Which show did they copy?

They copied most elements from every 80s movie/tv show which makes it highly unoriginal. Season 1 was basically a huge rip off of ET, kept 11 like they kept ET away from the authorities.

Just seems like one of those shows to cater to viewers that enjoy IT which wasn’t even scary.

I think that was the whole point of the show to bring back the nostalgia of the 80s with ET, Goonies and IT and they did nail it to perfection

ok season 2 finished.

Enjoyed it but I feel that should be it as the whole concept is wearing thin now.

However, the way it ended, it's all set for Season 3.

Have recently got round to watching this. Having watched True Detective Season 1 before this, I had high expectations. Thought it was terrific and made a fan out of me.

At first it seemed like 80s sci-fi cliches rehashed as the plot points and characters weren't unique (geeky kids, rebellious teenagers, cartoony school bullies). However I stuck with it and enjoyed it.

It does a great job of making a viewer try to piece the parts of the puzzle together in the search for Will - what is the purpose of the lab's experiments ? Why is Eleven so traumatised and what's her backstory ? Where are her parents ? Where is Will and what's the link between electricity and the Upside Down ? How was this monster created and what is the Upside Down ?

This show isn't just about Eleven, there are a diverse range of characters all of whom have their quirks and eccentricities. Heck, I detested Steve but even he redeems himself as a character later on.

The two main adult characters played by Winona Ryder and David Harbour provide gravitas and were superb. The child actors were warm, humane and genuinely funny. Eleven's limited dialogue makes her words more impactful and is easy to sympathise with her small physical stature and terrified demeanour. Being a fellow Liverpool fan also helps.

I look forward to watching Season 2 which introduces new characters and another monster. The show gets an 8/10 from me.

It's a decent show for families, I found I couldn't be bothered to watch it alone, but it seems much better when you are watching it with kids.

Good review an 8 or 8.5 is about right. I suspect you might dislike season 2. Also, am not a fan of Eleven anymore :mv

Very good review.

Have just started watching this recently and I'm already in love with the show. I should've started earlier.

Finished season 2. Overall, underwhelming compared to Season 2. I am not sure what more they can do in S3.

Saw the first season, was good but the finale was underwhelming. Going by the reviews Season 2 was almost the same but inferior, can't be bothered. Unlike movies, TV series need more patience and dedication as the plot unravels at a slower pace but there is more opportunity for character/story development. Don't really have the time at the moment for such shows.

I guess you are not a Sci Fi fan?

I guess you are not a Sci Fi fan?

Sci Fi I love, especially Interstellar, Inception, District 9, Looper, Ex Machina, The Matrix, Primer (A thinking mans Sci fi) etc. Never really got into the whole Star Wars/Star Trek thing for some reason.

Also Stranger Things is more Fantasy/Drama like GOT, The Walking Dead, Westworld etc which I never really got into either.

So weird I jus started the second season and the thread got bumped!

I liked season 1 much more than 2. There was this mysterious element to the story of season 1 which made it much more interesting for me.

I am recapping the first 2 seasons, before I start the 3rd. Watched the first season over the last 2 weeks.

Still find it absolutely brilliant!!

Third season is a improvement over S2 for sure but it just feels like another retread of first two seasons. Entertaining enough still.

Seen three episodes of the latest season to date.... acha chal raha hai abhi tak

S3 definitely hit it out of the park. Was very enjoyable to watch. New characters such as Robin and Alexei were quite entertaining. My favourite character is probably Lucas and the role they gave him was excellent.

Ok it’s getting a bit repetitive

just finished S3, the end was amazing, the show just gets better and better, so much to happen in S4,

I wonder who the american is in russia, and how did they get the monster

I loved Season 3.Looking forward to 4.

I still cant get over Hopper's death. The letter to El made me teary.I have a weird feeling that he is alive and is the American prisoner. He has to be.How can they make the next season without him.

definatly so many people crying and becoming teary at the end. outstandingly done by the duffer bro.

it look likly, just saw hopkins recent pictures, he has a big beard and looks like a russian prisoner

but it could also be el's papa who we found out in S2 is still alive and how else could the russians found out about a secret cia project in hawkins

Thats another possible speculation. It also makes sense but I desperately want Hopper to be alive. And what about the demegorgon in Russia? It's possible that the gate wasnt completely closed and / or Hopper went into the upside down and they captured him from there and that might explain the monster.

Finished season 3.

I might be in the minority and thought it wasn't as good as the first 2 seasons.

Just watched the first 3 episodes of season 3 and I do not like it one bit.

Season 2 was easily the best (barring that lost sister episode). We got to see the monsters. Sean Astin really nailed the role of Bob. Will was creepy as hell and Dustin was Eric Cartman incarnated.

Just binge watched the series.

Was really sad when Hopper ‘died’ (I think he’ll be back in the next season though)

Also, Billy redeemed himself. Never thought I’d feel sorry for him.

IMHO.

Season one was awesome.
Season two was so so
Season three was very very good.

Season 3 was very fast. They stayed on point.

I loved murrays character.

Season 3 is very dark compared to the other 2.

Yes but it also is most ‘80’s’ specific imo and because they stay in one place most of the time , being the mall the interest and editing remains.

It was a welcome season with good additions.

I loved the first two seasons. They were a breath of fresh air, but I've begun watching Season 3 and it's disappointing.

Everyone is playing to their character stereotype a bit too much - Dustin's an unloved geek, Steve is a loser, Nancy is a victim of sexism, Mike and Eleven are lovebirds, poor Will still has premonitions etc.

And now the Russians are coming ! Not sure how they've pulled this extraordinary scientific feat in 1985 when Chernobyl went kablooee the following year.

What I do like is the theme of the decline of high (main) street and big retailers gobbling up small businesses. That's still relevant today.

Another problem is the events of each season only take place over a week or less and a whole year passes in between seasons. A lot of character development is missed out on.

Plus I think the Russian plot is a build up towards Season 4 which could be the last season.

Finally managed to watch season 3. It was brilliant. The whole Russian plot is a cliché but they had to do something different this season.

Robin was a fantastic addition and I am really glad that they brought Murray back. He is phenomenal and steals the show in every scene. My favorite character along with Steve.

The dynamic between El and Max was pretty interesting as well.

I think (or perhaps I hope) Hopper is dead. The reference at the end was too “out there” to be true - almost everyone now thinks that he survived. It is possible that they are bluffing the audience.

Maybe I am wrong and he is alive, but that would make his letter less powerful, which was extremely emotional and beautifully executed.

It was the perfect closure for Hopper, and bringing him back after that just doesn’t work for me.

The teaser supports the theory that Hopper jumped into the upside down before the explosion.
