Summers or Winters? What do you enjoy more?

I can't stand the summers. I sweat a hell lot, something that has always been an issue for me since my childhood. I can't survive summers without AC. The only good thing about summers is I don't have to suffer asthma. I've been super, hyper asthmatic since the age of two. Everytime I suffer asthma, I've to go through hell.

I love winters. In my state of Assam, winters are not as severe as in North India. The minimum the temperature goes down to is 8 degrees. It's uncomfortable but not something I can't manage. Mu biggest issue is I have to go through asthma during winters. Trust me, it's miserable.

What do you guys prefer, summers or winters?​

The British summer is amazing, the best in the world imo. Sunset is after 9.30pm, the weather isnt too hot, the beautiful countryside looks stunning.

Ive only been on a couple of winter holidays , to the Alps because the landscape is amazing but prefer heat and sun.

The heats, smell, and number of people must get overwhelming. I have stayed in an air conditioned room in the peak summer in Pakistan and the UAE and was too weak to step outside until nightfall and even then it was difficult. Those people that navigate this heat and go about their day to day lives have my respect.

In contrast cold weather ( unless you are in remote Canada or Alaska) is easier to navigate as you can just put on heating or extra layers.

Summers are amazing if there are trees and water around and slight breeze, I did enjoy summers in farm houses in India.
Winter is great in Texas as its mild, hated it in Chicago.

I think end of the day the extreme in any condition is what I don’t like.

Personally I love all 4 seasons that many US cities have.

I read a lot about English summer in books shows etc, I always wonder if it’s how they describe.

You will enjoy it and as an Indian probably feel more at home here then in US. Only problem is that infrastructure is much worse than US. Too hot or too cold and transport grinds to a halt.

Winter. Grew up in the heat.

But winter in places with hot summers usually is nicer than places known for intense winters because it gets cold enough to need a jacket but not cold enough where you’re having to shovel snow every morning.

I enjoy outdoors more in the cold as well

four major sports leagues with three of them running in parallel most of the time. not to mention college sport thrown in.

Living in San Diego/SF bay area can be hard.

for 8 months of the year, you have to choose between biking, surfing or diving in the mornings. Sailing, wine tasting or one of the other dozen outdoor activities in the afternoon

After that there is burden of which cuisine to eat for dinner.

winter can be challenging. Choosing which ski resort to go is headache.

Avoid all this Stay in England.

The view, scenery is important to me when it comes to summers. Along with great sports.

The food here is far better than Tacos and Hot dogs. England has worldwide foods available here, the best of the best. I wont be coming and the favour is to Trump not you.

One thing which is apparent this year, we aren't really set up for long spells of hot weather in this country. I don't have A/C and I suspect most others don't either, so it can get pretty uncomfortable even with the windows open.

In general though I like hot weather, I'm an outdoors type. But not sure I'd want it all year round, I like the seasons.

People in the US mostly work from dawn to dusk so how much of that heaven do they even get to see?

I guess it's different for the really top earners or businessmen, but for the ordinary layman, life is often just geared around work in the US.

I can also make lazy generalizations about people in the UK mostly being overweight and in pubs all day. The money that the "average layman" makes in the US would be more than most so-called top earners in the UK.

Life is generally great for anyone who is above average, doesn't matter where you live. Although the third world is still the third world, regardless of how big you build your mansion.

But I am using the layman as a standard because that's what most people are.

There's nothing wrong with being in Pakistan for what it's worth, I have family who live a great life there, but you won't have a real perspective of the UK unless you've lived here.

History is based on perspective, English History isn’t close to Roman, Greek doesn’t mean England will not be a good place to live.

People live where people live and most times its not their decision, their parents migrated and they just grew up there got educated and started working and then people develop a natural affinity to the place where they grew up.

People are born in India or Pakistan or UK or Canada or Switzerland and that's just the way it is.

1. There is nothing wrong with earning Halal by cleaning Toilet or driving Taxi or whatever
2. Not every Muslim in the West does blue collar or manual work.

I don't know why talk shows in Pakistan and others have this opinion that Muslims in the West all "clean Toilets" or drive Taxis, maybe their family members and friends do that due to their background but nothing wrong with it if someone does.
