Deeply shocked and saddened by the passing of our power star Puneet Rajkumar at age of 46 years from cardiac arrest.

He was a shining beacon in kannada film industry down south and acted in innumerable movies and hits.
Those from karnataka (india) would know block buster movies like "bhakta Prahalada" as a child actor His last movie was "Yuvarathna", translates as a young gem.

He was known for being very humble and friendly with all his co-stars. He is also known for his charity work by providing education to 1000s of children and building schools and orphanages.
He also donated 50 Lakhs to state covid fund.

RiP Puneet and condolences to his family and fans.

RIP. 46 years is not an age to die. How tragic!

He was a fitness freak, so there must have been some underlying condition that caused the heart attack.

RIP. Was shocked tbh. Seems like he was a great human being and a very much loved personality by the kannadigas.

What's with these kannada actors dying early. Chiranjivi Sarja and now Puneet..

For those not familiar with south indian cinema how big a star was he?

Who would be his bollywood equivalence?

I cannot say his equivalent but he was excellent actor starting as a child actor. Took a break for studies and then came into mainstream in 2002.

Actually I was surprised when I saw a video from Lahore, Pakistan who paid tributes to Puneet by singing very famous songs in kannada from his movies. It was as good anyone can sing. WoW
So thanks to that gentleman and fan in Pakistan

Actress Soundarya also died very young. In a plane crash if I remember correctly. As it is, Sandalwood is the weakest of the 4 South Indian film industries

Yeah but Soundarya probably acted in more Telugu and Tamil movies than Kannada ones (not sure, but Kannada heroines generally move to Tamil and Telugu cinema when they become famous because of bigger market) while the heroes were all Kannada stars. Also Soundarya's death was quite a while back.
