Tabrez Ansari beaten on suspicion of theft, forced to chant Jai Shri Ram, succumbs to injuries

A Muslim man was attacked by a mob in Kharsawan district of Jharkhand on the suspicion of theft on June 18. He was beaten up mercilessly for over 18 hours before being handed over to the police. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital on June 22. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Tabrez Ansari.

Several videos of the Jharkhand mob lynching have gone viral since the incident. In one of the videos, a man is seen hitting Tabrez Ansari with a wooden stick as the latter begs him to let him go. Another video showed Tabrez being forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman".

According to the reports, Tabrez was handed over to the police on June 18 after being beaten up by the mob and was in the judicial custody since that day. He was taken to a hospital on June 22 after his condition worsened.

One of the accused, identified as Pappu Mandal, has been arrested following Tabrez Ansari's death.

Tabrez Ansari worked in Pune as a welder and a labourer and had come to his village in Jharkhand's Kharsawan district to celebrate Eid with his family. His family had also arranged his wedding during his visit.

On the night of June 18, he left his village for Jamshedpur with two men. Aurungzeb Ansari, a Jharkhand-based activist, has claimed that Tabrez was unaware where the two men were taking him. Ansari told HuffPost India that Tabrez was manipulated into going with them.

While the two men fled the scene, the mob caught Tabrez and started beating him up. "Ghar mein ghusega [You will enter the house?]," one of the men is heard asking Tabrez.

Tabrez is, however, heard denying the charges and saying that the two other men did and he was asked to wait near the motorcycle. "I did not know anything," he said. Towards the end of one of the videos, one of the men asks him to chant "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman".

By not punishing the guilty from start BJP has let non political goons also to join this bandwagon. Anti Muslim sentiment was always present amongst Hindus and other religions and now BJP has made the present climate based on religion.

As a voter someone who voted for BJP based on religion they seem to have a sense of entitlement and superiority over Muslims. They feel it's "our sarkaar" and we are in power. Indians have always had power culture and now this sense of entitlement amongst locals is a cause of worry.
Earlier it used to be political goons but now even normal people who are drunk get involved in religious hate crime. Ajaz Khan arrested by Mumbai Police over controversial Tik Tok video on Tabrez Ansari's lynching

Former Bigg Boss contestant Ajaz Khan, who is known for his controversial statement, was arrested by the Mumbai police for sharing a controversial Tik Tok video on social media. Ajaz was arrested today and will be summoned in the court.

According to report, Ajaz had shared a video on Tik Tok mocking Mumbai Police for filing FIR against Tik Tok celebrities in the last couple of weeks for posting threatening and inciteful video as revenge for Tabrej Ansari’s death. The Mumbai Police have reportedly tagged the video as ‘communal’ in nature which ultimately led to Ajaz Khan's arrest. A senior officer from the Crime Branch told Mid-day, "We have arrested Ajaz Khan and he will be produced before the court shortly."

Earlier on July 09, Shiv Sena activist Ramesh Solanki had filed a complaint with Mumbai Police cyber cell against the group of Tik Tok celebs--Faisal Shaikh, Hasnain Khan, Faiz Baloch, Adnan Shaikh and Sadhan Faroqui, for propagating revenge over Tabrez Ansari’s lynching in Jharkhand.

On Thursday, Solanki took to Twitter to confirm Ajaz's arrest and posted; “Its official Ajaz Khan is arrested by Cyber Cell Dept of @MumbaiPolice I thank @MumbaiPolice and @CPMumbaiPolice for arresting this hate monger Jai Hind Jai Sri Ram”

Recently, Tik Tok 07 group had made a controversial video on Tabrej Ansari Mob Lynching incident and Ajaz had released video supporting the group. In a Tik Tok video, the group had propagated revenge against people over Tabrez Ansari’s lynching. “You may have killed that innocent Tabrez Ansari, but tomorrow if his son takes revenge, do not say that all Muslims are terrorists,” the video claimed.

Meanwhile, Ajaz's video has gone viral on social media, in which he can be seen taunting Mumbai Police by mimicking a dialogue from a certain Bollywood movie for registering an FIR against all those who made instigating Tik Tok videos on Jharkhand Lynching incident.

We have been going down this extremist path for the last 2 decades. Its only getting worse. Worst part is, there is no one to challenge BJP Government. I think BJP will win next elections too. There is no alternative for BJP and Sangh Parivar.

You know whats going happen right, muslim resistants groups will form in india, suicide bombings in numbers etc etc and India will blame pakistan.

Jharkhand lynching: Tabrez Ansari’s wife demands CBI inquiry, fast track hearing

RANCHI: Wife of Tabrez Ansari, after meeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday, has demanded CBI inquiry into her husband’s lynching case.

Ansari was allegedly thrashed for several hours after being tied with a pole and forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ on June 18, last year, on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle with two other persons in Seraikela and succumbed to his injuries four days later in a hospital on June 22.

“After I met Chief Minister, he has sought a week’s time to look into the demands raised by me in the application. In the application, I have demanded CBI inquiry into the matter, besides a day-to-day hearing by a fast track court into my husband’s case, which is pending in the Court of First Additional District and Session Court of Saraikela,” said wife Shaista Parveen. In addition, I want financial support of Rs 25 lakh along with a state government job, she added.

Parveen further added that when she had met CM Soren six months back, calling her his sister, he had assured her to extent all support to her. She has knocked his door only on the basis of the assurances given to her earlier, she said.

Tabrez Ansari lynching case: Two doctors face action for negligence

RANCHI: The Jharkhand government on Friday ordered action against the two doctors in the Tabrez Ansari lynching case for being negligent in discharging their duties.

Health Minister Banna Gupta has directed to initiate departmental action against the two doctors – Dr. Om Prakash Keshari and Dr. Shahid Anwar – who attended to the 24-year-old Ansari after being taken to Sadar Hospital at Saraikela–Kharsawan. They did not examine him properly and declaring him fit to go to jail. Due to this, his condition deteriorated further leading to his death, the minister said.

Ansari was allegedly thrashed for several hours after being tied with a pole and forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Bajrang Bali’ on June 18, last year, on suspicion of stealing a motorcycle along with two other persons in Seraikela. He succumbed to injuries four days later in a hospital on June 22.

“The probe has ended and it was found that some lapses were committed by the two doctors. Accordingly, orders have been passed to initiate departmental proceeding against them,” said Principal Health Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni.

The action was taken on the basis of a report submitted by the district administration after conducting a proper investigation into the matter, he added.

It has been alleged in the report that the doctors examined him twice on June 17, but they did not take the job seriously. Moreover, when another doctor came to examine him in the morning, he conducted only an X-ray instead of a full-body check-up. No injury or any other details were mentioned in the report.

The other doctor, who examined Tabrez in the evening, also gave his report on the basis of the X-ray taken in the morning without examining him properly.

Meanwhile, Shaista Parveen, wife of Tabrez Ansari, met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and demanded a CBI probe into the case.
