What's new

Talent Spotter : Mohammad Abbas

Love the bounce he has extracted from the pitch, and lovely shape away from the right hander..

i hope this guy plays for next 10 years
he looks real deal
i hope he has a successful 10 year career
All the best Abbas

I like his attitude staring at the batsman he's a thinking bowler knows what he 's doing. very confident too.

Forget speed Look at the control and swing.. that's a great prospect... Hopefully he'll learn the art of trapping the batsman asap..

really hope he gets at least 5 wickets in the current match so he won't get dropped

Has bowled with control and has got the ball to swing both ways. Nice fluid action. Good start so far.

As I said Medium Fast with few in the range of Fast medium.

First Test, Nerves, No Int standard fitness yet.

Can't be termed trundler.

This is the problem with Pak fans. A superstar? Let the guy settle.

He ia a good bowler, will be averaging around 28-29. This is what we needed.

I take back what I said and salute Junaids theory of height relational to ability of a test match fast bowler.

He looks solid, seasoned and most importantly can take wickets.

The ball to dismiss Singh was a beauty, nipping back in from around teh wicket, a dream delivery. Can swing the ball both ways, he's quality. If he can get his average pace from 130 to around 135 he could be really good.

Amazing from Abbas on flattest of wicket.

Bowls at good channel, move the ball both ways, good at reverse swing and is intelligent.

If he can perform on these dead pitches he will do well in better conditions.

Abbas is a must for the England tour next year. He'll be playing at Lord's and then up North here at Headingley.

Excited to see what Triple A attack of Amir, Ali and Abbas can do in early May conditions in England with Dukes ball.

Silencing all the haters once again. What a performer.

Trundler my foot.

Tough day for PP experts.

I like how PP experts were writing him after the first test due to lack of pace. Wahab has pace but Abbas has been more effective in this one series than Wahab has been in his entire career.

I'd take a military medium trundler who picks up wickets over a "phasst" bowler who sprays it to all sides of the pitch.

If Abbas picks up 2-3 wickets in the 2nd innings, he should be given the man of the match without a doubt.

Mohammad Abbas speaking on a TV show today:

"From my U-19 days I was told to target in-form batsmen and this is what I do nowadays which is to look for batsmen who are in form and deny them run scoring opportunities"

"I always try to provide support to proper batsmen when I am batting and try and build a partnership"

"I enjoy batting but the last year was not that great for me in batting"

"This will be my first time to work with Wasim Akram (at Multan Sultans) so it will be a good opportunity to learn something from the legend"

"Every player has a dream to play in front of his own supporters so this will be wish also that we (Multan Sultans) qualify for the play-offs and then play and perform in Pakistan"

"I have spent the most fun times in dressing room with Yasir Shah and Hasan Ali"
