Pakistan will be among top 5 but not sure where. NZ will go down to join their traditional minnow brothers ranked between 6th and 9th.

I think as Mamoon put it, signs are we're going up in ODIs and going down in tests. Don't like to say that, but I see it. In tests we've just lost our two best batsmen and asad hasn't stepped up. If some of our bowlers like Hasan Ali, Junaid, Raees etc. start showing success in tests, maybe we'll go up the rankings.

I think we will be in top 4 in ODIs by 2020, probably 4th, I think India, Australia and South Africa will be ahead of us. In tests I think we will be 5th.

Another delusional fan

:))) haha sorry that was such a funny post I needed a good laugh. Ahh, to inform you I predicted Pakistan would win the tournament before the SA match and after the India thrashing. So therefore I would suggest you stop wrist slitting.

I salute your optimism but we won't be number one, but for sure in top 5

I also think Pakistan will be in the top 5. I think they got a decent team going forward

You predicted it because you supported Pakistan, not because you have some advanced prediction abilities. Many Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan fans may also have predicted that they would win the match.

+1 Top post

You predicted it because you supported Pakistan, not because you have some advanced prediction abilities. Many Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan fans may also have predicted that they would win the match.

When did I say I have advanced prediction abilities? I all I'm trying to state is there is nothing wrong with predicting that pakistan can get to the #1 spot in ODI's look at how are young players have performed. I would write more but I am travelling so don't want to overuse my data.

There is a reason you are at #8 currently and that is based on the quality of the team performances over a period of time rather than some fluke once in a bluemoon win. This is similar to Zimbabwe claiming that they are better than Pakistan after one series win.

First of all number 6 and winning the Champions Trophy is not a fluke get your facts right. I would right a whole paragraph but I'm busy right now.

No they are not
Pakistab will end up making the same mistakes they made in the past. Not itilizing players properly .

Guys like faheem ashraf arnt good enough for internation cricket. Plus, shadab is more of a batsmen and we havent testes him as a batsmen yet.

India and Australia will be in Top three in all three formats.
Pakistan will be top four in LOIs and top five in Tests.
Bangladesh will be in top five in Tests
England will not be in top three in any format

SA, Aus and Ind in top 3 in both formats. I thnk I will be right in at least 4 out of these 6 spots.

If India keep hiding in the subcontinent they will remain no.1 forever

By 2020 I think the Test rankings will look like this:

1. Australia (pace trio of Hazelwood, Cummins, and Starc)
2. India (close to unbeatable at home)
3. England
4. South Africa (could fall if they keep their race based quotas)
5. Bangladesh
6. Pakistan
7. New Zealand
8. Sri Lanka
9. West Indies
10. Afghanistan

i think india will be near the top, we're basically approaching what they were in the early 2000s with a an absolute bomb batting-line up and no fast bowlers. but that kind of batting line-up will keep them up there. apart from that i'm not really sure. i expect SA to drop a bit and hope WI and bangladesh climb. aus may well be number 1. (tests, obviously)

My fond hope is that Indians will lose interest in cricket and start taking interest in some more global sports by the time 2020 arrives. Hopefully that will cause BCCI to stop bothering to participate in ICC tournaments by the time 2020 arrives.

Dont think thats gonna happen. Lets say if India wins 2019 WC, cricket will remains mainstay. I do hope Indians gradually move away from boring Test series into IPL and post 2022 IPL grows and add more teams to it. Club cricket is the future whether we like it or not.

On topic: India will remain in top 3-4 spot in both formats of the game in 2020. Apart from India, Australia and SA will be other two teams in top 3 spot. SL, WI, and BD will fight for bottom spots, NZ and Pakistan will float in middle of the table.
