I tink Camera work and production has gone down this year.It was boring.
Blurred,no focus on crowd and no truck, auto rickshaw etc.No regular speed.
I am disappointed.

I preferred last years layout of the score etc. It looks a bit cheap this year.

Picture quality is awful and needs sorting out.

In addition adverts are cutting off coverage.

Cameramen at times seem like they are covering cricket for the first time.

The broadcaster are the reason for the first two I think.

Some of the Indian posters said the quality was fine and the YouTube highlights look great.

It’s hum tv and Ptv that are making it look bad.

I don’t know about you, but for me the aspect ratio is also messed up as well.

Like the cricket doesn’t fill up the entire TV screen.

Yep I’ve got the same here. I don’t know where you are watching but it’s a hum tv and ptv problem.

Willow and Dsports are giving the best video quality, crystal clear and very less adverts.
If you have access to these channels then do not try ptv sports or hum tv.

Television coverage not of a great standard. However it's more the match quality, the atmosphere during the match, and also the commentators at times that made the whole thing feel lackluster.

The graphics seem worse.

That whole scorecard inside a 3d glass was pretty cool and nice, but they changed it this year.

Also, didn't show the speed much and the six distances either.

Need better Microphones to pick the crowd atmosphere. It was as if the crowd was miles away from the play.

Their youtube highlights need to be uploaded at a better bitrate. Hard to watch due to extreme motionblur.

Perhaps, but I don't think it was so much the microphones that couldn't pick it up, as it was the crowd wasn't into the game.. as there was nothing to shout about for 90% of the game.

You may be right but even when Jason Drulo and others were on, the sound was naff.

There wasn't much from the crowd for some of the performances, the toss, and of course the game. I think the microphones could be used to magnify the little response that they do get from the crowd. The crowd should probably be a bit more enthusuastic. But, at the same time the match quality is what will warrant a crowd response, the only time I felt the crowd were involved was when Sammy was hitting them out the ground.

We're missing some superstar players in the league, and sometimes the brand of cricket some of these players play can be quite boring to watch. We need more Sammy and Afridi esque players to bring excitement into the tournament.

PSL games should happen in pakistan..the sooner the better..the crowd here was dull and not excited as there was no home team to support...that's the main problem ...

Can someone explain to me how cricket gateway works?

I've been trying to watch the highlights of the 1st PSL game but whenever i click on the highlights it takes me to a page where it says "Full match replays available only for IPL subscribed users". I just paid 10 usd to be told that i have to buy another pack for IPL to watch PSL :(

Working fine on Android app...

Indeed it will be good when eventually all PSL games are played in pakistan in front of a home crowd. However, i hope they are more responsive than they were in last year's final, on that occasion they hardly made any noise and players actually got a better response in Dubai/Sharjah. I am hoping that was a one off and we have more responsive crowds in the 3 games this year.

How can you judge the excitement of the crowd from a TV broadcast?

I live in the UAE, but while I myself didn't go to the match myself, I had a lot of people who went tell me that the crowd was very good.

I can only judge from what I see. I'm saying it didn't come accross as a responsive crowd as they didn't make a lot of noise. I think the magnitude of it all warranted more energy from the crowd? During the ceremony, toss and the match they were largely dull. Even rameez was wondering if people could hear him when he was announcing the toss. I hope it gets better going forwards, perhaps when they actually see some big hitting.

I am watching this on Deports. Quality is really good, compared to cricket gateway.

Very few ads.

Yeah. Compared to PTV Sports, it looks like another tournament.

Going by the channel quality I've seen, for Pakistan viewers, Cricket Gateway > Ten Sports > Geo Super > PTV Sports.

For me Geo is even better than Ten.

Cricket Gateway is best tho

Sound quality is really poor. Not sure if it's the microphones or something else but the comms sound isn't clear.

Willow is working fine and HD quality, although the overall broadcast seems a bit too dark?

The old scorecard was better.

I hate the way they keep showing the VIPs again and again and again and again and again. We seem to see them more than the cricketers.

After watching the last two days of the PSL, I’ve realised that the gulf between the top 2 t20 leagues (IPL, BBL) and the PSL is much bigger than I previously thought.

1. The PSL graphics of last year were absolutely amazing. Just watched the highlight of a few matches from last year and it literally made me want to sack the genius who left that design and started this uber dour design. Why? Seriously why?

2. Somethings wrong with the sound, either the crowd and music system employed in the ground are set on a very low volume, or the mics aren't really capturing the full vibe.

3. They've learnt nothing from the mistakes of the last year. You do not need to interview the people who have taken the catch, you don't need to take interviews from "celebrities" while the match is undergoing.

4. To the above poster who said that PSL is way behind IPL or BBL in television coverage, give a few reasons as to why they are superior.

Tried watching it for an hour today, got a bleeding headache. Cringeworthy nonsense, considerably worse than the IPL even. I didn't even believe that was possible. Won't be watching another match.

Well on prime tv, didn't even know it was junaids hat trick, it came back from the ad and the ball was in the air and just got to the fielder and then it was announced as a hat trick. Didn't even get to see the ball.. that was really poor from prime tv. I hate when these apnay channels make you miss an important part of the game, and just abruptly go to or come from ads.

What's is wrong with the PSL speed guns?

I find it frustrating that the speed guns only seem to show the speed of around one delivery per over. Surely, if speed guns are available for the tournament they should show the speed of each delivery.

It generates interest for sure of fans and commentators. For example, the actual speed of Shaheen Shah Afridi was of interest to a lot of people but wasn't shown regularly.

It's an aspect the PSL definetly needs to look at.

Ads and all nonsense apart, the clarity is much much worse as compared to Dsport or Tensports, On PTV it looks as if some other National T20 is being broadcasted.
Clarityon Dsport is brilliant, almost HD and with less ads, it is simply best.
They show a little durinh time out also and also when innings finishes and at the start.
PTV is filth

OSN cricket is wonerful too. Fans in Middle East can easily subscribe to WAVO which is cheap and easy. All you need is decent internet connection. Good news is that you can register 3 or 5 devices on it so you can even share the costs with your friends. Btw, it costs only 50Dhs per month.

On the plus side, the quality of the PTV UK’s broadcast of the tournament has really improved in comparison to the last two seasons.

The last two years the pictures were very blurry and pixelated and the colour was a bit off. This year the pictures are pretty clean. Still not as good as some of the other sports channels but still quite good.

Dark pictures, no sharpness at all.

Commentators chatting utter garbage also.

Painful to watch this.

A little upset that there is no way to watch PSL in Bangladesh unless you subscribe to cricketgateway.com

Last 2 seasons were televised

The whole presentation is so cheap and unprofessional.

I watch this and think it will get better, but it never does. It just keeps on getting worse and makes me cringe.

It's like watching a bunch of people who have no clue about tv presenting, commentating or conducting presentation ceremonies.

From the pre-match, the commentary, the interviews, the features, the graphics, the picture quality, the post-match stuff - absolutely awful and needs a total re-vamp and shake-up.

Everyone keeps saying how bad the graphics are, but I honestly don’t see what the problem is. They look fine, not as good as some of the graphics last year but still fine.

I can’t defend anything else they’re messing up but graphics are not as bad as everyone thinks.

The amount of errors Ramiz Raja makes is incredible.

How on earth does he keep on getting commentary stints.

The other day one of the foreign commentator asked Ramiz. Tell us something about Ramiz Jr, Ramiz's response well he got my name so he is good. I mean seriously??

He has no knowledge of domestic cricketers in Pakistan. Absolutely zero knowledge. He tries to make up for that with cheap humour.

Clarity is top notch on willow. Bazid's commentary is a bit boring and feels drowsy. Rameez is well...Rameez. He's colorful

We have been hearing this fazul commentator since the last two decades can we not get rid of him? We desperately need more ex-Pakistani cricketers to take up commentary.

I think Wasim Akram should commentate more.

Noooo :(

He keeps reading whatever stats they show on the screen, over and over.

If he can cut that out, maybe...

Honestly not a lot of good Pakistani commentating options.

The pool is small because not many of our ex-cricketers speak good English. I think Hasan "Chandu" Khan should take up commentary as he has really good English and his career isn't going anywhere.

He was comparing hafeez with MSD???? hilarious.....

If you analyse his commentary you will spot lotsand lots of mistakes during commentary, post-match and at presentation ceremonies.

It's really painful to listen or watch him.

Is he suffering from some ailment? He looks weak. And his commentary used to be much better.

I must have missed that day.

I used to like his commentary. As a commentator he’s very neutral and had a good sense of humour. But I agree nowadays he’s making so many mistakes and is not adding any value as a commentator. Still better than Russel Arnold though :)))
