Hindu man in Bangladesh allegedly beaten to death, body tied to tree, and set on fire
A young Hindu man was beaten to death in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, over alleged blasphemy. Police say the body was later tied to a tree and set on fire.

A group of people allegedly beat a Hindu man to death in Bhaluka, Mymensingh, in Bangladesh, accusing him of blasphemy, reported BBC Bangla. Police said the incident occurred on Thursday night in the Square Master Bari Dubalia Para area of Bhaluka upazila.
After beating him to death, the attackers tied the body of the young man to a tree and set it on fire, Bhaluka police station duty officer Ripon Mia was quoted as saying by BBC Bangla.
Police identified the deceased as Dipu Chandra Das. He worked at a local garment factory and was living in the area as a tenant, officials said based on preliminary information. “On Thursday around 9 PM, an enraged crowd caught him and beat him to death, accusing him of making derogatory remarks about the Prophet. They then set the body on fire,” duty officer Mia told BBC Bangla.
After receiving information, police went to the scene and brought the situation under control. Officials said the body of Das was sent to the morgue at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. No case has been filed so far in connection with the incident.
