We've seen it time and again - our national teams, whether it's hockey, cricket, or football, consistently fall short of expectations. The talent is there, the passion is undeniable, but something always seems to hold us back.

Is it time to admit that the team structure, riddled with politics and internal conflicts, is simply not working?

Maybe it's time to shift our focus and resources toward nurturing individual athletes

Let's stop clinging to the dream of a glorious team comeback and start celebrating the individual achievements that are already happening.

What do you think about this?

Hockey is your national sport, even though it is a team game, why not revive it first ?

Apart from that wrestling is another sport Pak can excel.

Wrestling is tough too , it has elite wrestlers but possible over time .

To win an Olympic medal is very difficult in any event .! Arshad is a once in a generation talent . And even with his talent it required huge mental strength & dedication to achieve this .

Pakistan isn’t going to invest much . It has to start in school , add athletics to cricket & hockey. Running , sprinting , jumping , throwing events dont require expensive equipment or arenas . Find a talented youngster & give them a place in university as an athlete.

But in reality if as a Pakistani you were lucky enough to see his throw live , a gold winning moment may never be seen again in your lifetime

We can really on the odd genetic freak every few years to bring us something but apart from that there is zero chance of a sporting legacy being built consistently.

One of the big issues is once a talent is identified he/she must be given full medical support along with quality training . Arshad was lucky to meet Dr. Ali Sher Bajwa, who is world renowned in his field , sorted his injury enabling him to throw so far . Athletics is very injury prone events esp javelin as it’s guaranteed you’ll be injured at some point .

Both are different things, and both are important. Arshad Nadeem has given Pakistan's sports fraternity a wake-up call to now also support individual sports persons, and he has ignited some passion in Pakistan's youth to take an interest in individual sports.

Might be a pipe dream but I think Pakistani combat sports men could excel with right support like the Dagestanis have. Just need one or two to make it or some external help.

There is going to be very little internal support for any sportsman so we need miracles, duas and outside support.

Combat sports is possible, again no major equipment needed but important to have gyms & facilities. A few MMA gyms have popped . The domination of Muslim Dagestanis has inspired a lot all over the world. But will need a serious talent like Arshad to win as those categories are also very high level & competitive.

Sports such as marathon require little in terms of facilities - we can easily find a medal there.

have been saying this for ages. identify sports which arent as competitive world wide, and just aim to to be good at them. team sports is way too economically intensive to compete in. wrestling, weight lifting, shooting should be the aims, very low investment, and can train with very small teams.

Shooting is costly.

But I'm sure Pakistan still won't invest in other individual sports. We are a country with a history of mismanagement.

There is no money to be earned in sports that public does not follow.

Even athletes from countries with much better economies are forced to sell their nude pictures on only fan accounts.

Sports like Javelin throw, shot put, rifle shooting, pole vaulting are not popular. All these athletes struggle financially.
