What's new

The Australian sledging thread

This thread is not meant to abuse the Australians !!

It is like my second team and I cheer for them after Pak and love them

Its just we all want them to love us back as well :P

Hope you understand :)

Then why complain so heavily on New Zealand's behalf when the Kiwis don't care in the slightest?

And why would we do that? They can spend their time practicing cricket not management jargon thanks.

If the ICC want to implement it than it can make it necessary to get the training and follow the instructions

And it would be necessary for ALL teams

Including Aussies

It might help

Well the folks on pakpassion know that deep down the kiwi players are just terrified of the aussies and so only came out in support of the aussie players through fear so they need a few white knights to ride in and rescue them.

So carry on brave knights, guptill elliot and the other damsels won't forget your bravery.

I did not start this thread for Kiwis - I dont care about Kiwis

this thread is about sledging and not about WC 2015 final

The same sledging which can turn normal wahab riaz into ... well a sledger which is not good !!

help what?

Your goal of making Aussies love you?

Waste of time.

The ICC should implement lessons to get players to stop accepting money to perform poorly

Well based on the performances in the game, Pakistan would have been better off if ten other players followed Wahab's transformation.

Australia should be banned from playing cricket, so that the rest of the countries can play some competitive cricket. I used to love and support Australia when they were losing, but not anymore.

I'm the same, I love teams when they are losing.

Scathing article by him in Mid-Day. Horrendous and boorish behavior has gone unnoticed by PPers for some reason.

This is disgusting .Do these Aussie players not learn any manners at school ? Have some respect for the the game of cricket damn it.

Most of the players aren't well educated. Now that's some smashing insight, who would have thought.

I thought most of them were Group of Eight graduates.

Hate it when asians talk about manners and crap.Just win the cup for god sake and i wouldn't care if u make roomali roti on it!

Michael Jeh is an another Aussie against it , so why blame only SC fans.

Which one do? I'd like to know, honestly.

If I'm not wrong, Haddin was on ANU scholarship.

yeah atleast Masters Degree in Sociology is must for an Aussies cricketer, than they may start behaving like civilized humans.

i dont have a problems if the aussies can also take it the same way they dish it out but guys like that famous elephant killer, glenn mcgrath, have shown that they are more likely than any other team to lose it in that sort of situation.

yeah atleast Masters Degree in Sociology is must for an Aussies cricketer, than they may start behaving like civilized humans.

Yes if only Aussie cricket team was civilized like your team eh. But alas all we have is the world cup, five of em.

it's better to have manners and respect than to have 5 world cups but no respect for opposition and the game itself.

They sledge because they can and they are masters of sledging. Rather than complaining teams should learn to sledge them back otherwise get ready for broken arms and ribs. :yk2

what better reply can you expect from an Aussies, so enjoy you arrogant victories untill your next test tour to sub-continent, you gonna taste some humality.

Cant wait it should be fun, the sub-con teams will be nice and treat us with respect.

it's better to have manners and respect than to have 5 world cups but no respect for opposition and the game itself.

Sorry bro i have never seen aussie fans burning effigies, posters of cricket players, break bats, and attack players homes over a loss. This is not called respecting the game and their own players. They never give up on the field and they should be appreciated for that quality.

Teams have learned from us, current indian team even out sledged our lot this past test summer which i admit is no easy feat and lets remember that broken arm comment was in reply to anderson telling bailey he was going to smash his face in so i think the cricket world is catching up just fine with the mean old aussies.

Something tells me if Johnson had done a Wahab the forum would be full of people slating Johnson, yet Wahab does it and its the rise of aggressive fast bowling and should be encouraged, and is also praised by virtually everyone???

Aussies have an in your face attitude but they've won the world cup 5 times, I guess its somewhat warranted. Now I dont like seeing it on the pitch, but if the NZ'ers themselves dont care why should I?

Besides they all shared a beer after the game so it seems this is blown way out of proportion

it's better to have manners and respect than to have 5 world cups but no respect for opposition and the game itself.

Well the rest of you (aka non-Australians) can be happy with your ancient world cups and we'll enjoy out five

So who were the nice teams at the world cup.

Australia were last we can all agree on that.

So who was the nicest team at the world cup, this is my list.

nicest to worst:
Pakistan
New Zealand
Ireland
UAE
England
Afghanistan
India
Bangladesh
Zimbabwe
South Africa
Sri Lanka
Australia.

Nicest player overall.
Rahat, dropped a catch but not his shoulders.

The ICC should have a trophy for the nicest team and they should get more prizemoney than the winner of the cup so it encourages the teams to be nicer. The ICC should also give extra points to teams that be nice.

LOL cricket team need to play cricket manners and all that is over rated....and honestly we Pakistanis should be the last to tell anyone of manners.

The first picture is abominable. Pouring beer all over the WC? /facepalm

And where does Haddin's attitude stem from? A no-name mediocre cricketer with such cockiness it's unbelievable.

what's wrong with pouring beer all over the world cup? I have seen players filling a winning cup with beers and drinking from it. You people are such emotional sentimental softies. Lol

They walk the talk. They sledge, they play hard, they win. I can't believe people get hurt by this. Lol

i am apalled how the symonds-harby issued was played out in contrast to rohit-warner episode.

One involved a lenghty mudslinging ordeal while the other was referred to as ' just banter' or warner being warner at the most.

Tbf in the latter i gave warner the benefit of the doubt as well arguing that warner's fault was just a poor choice of words but after reading about what prominent oz personalities about the aus vs ind SF , i strongly suspect it was just a racist tirade by warner.

LOLZ. I can only laugh at such comments.

Aussies can sledge as long and as much as they want, till they are winning and hold the cup:mj

Others can give them back when its their time:jm

Haddin is a disgrace, deserves no respect

He asked none from you and it doesn't really matter if you respect him or not. He plays to win for his country. He will come hard at you. Give it back if you are good enough.

Australia should be banned from playing cricket, so that the rest of the countries can play some competitive cricket. I used to love and support Australia when they were losing, but not anymore.
don"t think Aussie care much 4 ur support:mj

Except Shehzad most Pakistanis have behaved pretty well on field imo that's a degradation considering Wasim ,Waqar,Akhtar wouldn't had cared if they broke someone's helmet.

It is all about overall manners.

- Team in fighting.
- Fighting with coaches.
- Oath Taking.
- Spot Fixing.
- Beating Fans/Other players with bat.
- Caught with drugs on the beech.
- Making comments against fellow team members while being not selected.

I am sure there will be quite some more incidents like this that I don't remember.

Pakistan cricket is full of absolute bad manners and we should not become saviors of good behavior and players who are role models for youngsters.

fair enough!

Raising a child is the responsibility of the parents.

Why dont Australia have more like Gilchrist. Champion player, and a gentleman. The kind of guy a girl can introduce to her parents. If I am not wrong, he has 4 kids. When I have kids, I will tell them about Gilchrist. Not these current bunch of Aussie players who have no manners.

I agree. And to be very fair, fast bowling should be done away with as well. Nothing is more beastly and primitive than a man running towards you and throwing a hard round rock at another human being. Infact they should all put away their bats and balls, and just smile at each other nicely for 8 hours, and the team that smiles more friendlier-ly should be given the prize money.

Nah. Every team should have an equal chance of winning.

We'll have a ten year world cup cycle so each team can win the world cup every 40 years

Many of my friends living in Australia tell me that how rude and unsporting Australian crowd is during the match. Even one of our PP friend living in Australia told us the same Pantani Maybe it's a cultural thing, not just cricket.

In Australia fans of different teams can sit next to each other in matches and not have fights.

Where else in the world is this possible?

There's no point Convict they don't, or won't, understand. Once people start talking about cultural issues and stereotyping an entire race of people it's pretty pathetic and ignorant though, for the purpose of getting their kicks through trolling. You expect it from newbs but I'd have thought members such as this who have been around for a while would know better than to generalise.

I lived in England for four years, attended many matches. Great crowd. I don't think Pantani was lying, must have faced harsh behaviour from Australian towards Sri Lankans.

I'd love Pakistan to sledge too much, Be called boorish, Uncivilized and uncultured whilst also being the greatest cricketing nation of all time as 5 time World cup winners.

And what happens in English soccer matches?

Nice and safe?

I could sit with the opposition, support my team and be perfectly fine?

There must be a reason that they are generalizing or stereotyping ???

Actually it is you guys who are giving bad name to your team with such coarse comments !!

It's easy to generalise mate. It's harder to look impartially and treat individuals as individuals. If I said all Pakistanis are fixers and cheaters, you would accept this comment based on the evidence? After all there would be reason I would say it, correct?

The kids are joining in and swearing at the opposition with their parents half the time in Football matches in England. :yk

Australian crowds heckle and yell a lot.

People do get thrown out for crossing the line and get permanently banned from every attending a match again.

And Australian sporting events are far safer than sporting events in Europe and Asia.

We don't need to segregate crowds to keep people safe like what happens in Europe.

Losers always come out of the woodwork when Australia win complaining about something, who cares, its fun when you get someone who is upset about Australia winning and start crying about sledging or something like that. Hadds is a legend who trolled like a giant and we get to see those he trolled. Its Awesome.

It's making it harder to choose between a world cup and the Ashes.

The sheer number of people who cry over Australia winning a world cup is pretty memorable.

I was talking about my experience of watching cricket matches in England.

I was talking about my experience of watching cricket matches in England.

But in many English sporting events it's unsafe to sit with opposition fans.

You can do that everywhere in Australia.

You have been referencing this cheater/fixer tag to Pak in this whole conversation again and again while i never referenced any thing about aussie nation at all - just the aussie folk here and the cricketers !!

I have aussie friends and they are unlike the mindset that aussie cricketers have

It is best to have a poll so that we can have a verdict about sledging rather than this debate

It's all about Oz mentality, which is "it's better to be bad winners than to be good losers" but it would be even better if it was like "it's not just being winners it's about being good winners" but i think i am asking too much.

For that you need leaders like Misbah and Azhar; not Clarke.

Well Pakistani cricket does have a poor track record in regards to match fixers.

For that you need leaders like Misbah and Azhar; not Clarke.

would you like to elaborate? I didn't get your point, because as for as i know Misbah is not a winner to begin with so how he can be good winner, he hasn't won any major trophy.

Well Pakistani cricket does have a poor track record in regards to match fixers.

Only Pak? Please check other nations as well if u have data !!

However Aussie cricketers have unblemished excellent behaviour record !!

no its not
just because others are poor at sledging does not make aussie sledging boorish or uncivilized

You should've used one which says "more tears" rather than "no more tears"

because nobody is crying on your win but we are happy !!

And what happens in English soccer matches?

Nice and safe?

I've sat with the opposition, even in the Stretford End one time, and felt safe. I kept quiet though, and clapped politely when the opp team scored. Football does arouse the mob-mind, which can be a happy thing or a very dangerous one.

Why so much bitterness against the Aussies?? They sledge, they make bold statements in front of media. But they walk the talk! If other

teams finding it intolerable, then should find a way to beat them, and shut their mouth! If they can't then they have to bear this! simple!

Cricket World Cup 2015: Australia’s triumph inspires respect but no love after our boys’ antics

AUSTRALIA are World Cup champions for a fifth time but, while respect for the team’s ability is undoubted, equally there is no widespread love or affection for our boys outside these shores.

http://www.foxsports.com.au/cricket/icc-world-cup-2015/cricket-world-cup-2015-australias-triumph-inspires-respect-but-no-love-after-our-boys-antics/story-e6frf3ju-1227286687232

It's clearly the sentiment of millions, not some PPers opinion on Pakpassion.
