The Babar Azam versus Virat Kohli comparison

Today I was looking at what Kohli did in Australia in ODI's when facing good bowlers. So the good fast bowlers he had over his career are : Lee, Johnson, Harris, McKay, Starc, Hazlewood and Cummins. Over 10 innings in witch at least two of them played he averages around 20 with one fifty (run a ball 90) in a losing cause chasing 380.
That's pretty poor for someone who is supposed to be that great.
I agree he hasn’t been good in Aus when facing the top dawgs but then against the same bowlers he has done well in India and Eng (2019 ).

Babar is not on the same level.

Every single batsman in history has some poor spot in his career or a country where he doesn't click. Unless you think he is God or hold him to different standards than all other greats in history.

Once again a poor attempt at deflection of your thread backfiring.

As well as done in SA and NZ vs top bowlers.

And top Aus bowlers haven't even played together in Aus much in ODIs. The sample size must be 3-4. He has done well in Aus ODIs including against the likes of Boland.

Exactly! Kohli is on his last legs as an international cricketer. While Babar, at 31, should be in his prime.
Not only is old man Kohli outperforming Babar in his last years, guys like Gill and Jaiswal have come up.

Babar Azam's "reign" never came.

King Kohli. King Gill.

So in a discussion from another thread where a poster think that Virat is above Babar over the past few years.

So lets compare them over the past 2 years.

Tests :

Virat Kohli :
14 matches, 22 innings
average 43.85
hundreds/fifties : 2/5

Babar Azam :
10 matches, 17 innings
average 66.57
hundreds/fifties : 4/5

ODI's :
Virat Kohli :
innings 26
average 56.25
SR : 94.91
hundreds/fifties : 2/13

Babar Azam :
innings 19
average 71.12
SR : 96.14
hundreds/fifties : 5/6

T20's :
Virat Kohli :
innings 22
average 59.73
SR : 143
hundreds/fifties : 0/8

Babar Azam :
innings 16
average 39.14
SR : 136
hundreds/fifties : 0/7

So how is it even comparable? Over the past 2 years Babar is in a different league when compared to Virat Kohli and there is no shame to have for Kohli and indian fans.
Babar is in a terrefic form, the form of his life.

Test average difference of 23, ODI average difference of 16, 2 times more hundreds.
Everything is in Babar's favor.

There is really no other way to look at it apart if you are a hater.
Oh how this has aged

Babar has been surpassed by many players now... Babar is batting like a tail-ender atm.. Kohli is already finished so him in the discussion now is not worth it

Oh how this has aged
Funniest thing is taking a great career and only looking at last two years when a player has lost form and comparing it with an average player who had a decent 2 years.

It never made sense to begin with.

Dont blame Mobashir. Whole Pakistan fanbase went crazy over Babar in 2022. Including the most sensible folks

I have feeling this contributed to Babar's downfall. The non stop hype on social media got to his head. Made him complacent & hence he stopped working on his game & instead started worrying more about his " King Babar " persona. That led to his crash landing. Now his head is too messed up.

Just scrolling a reel where Pakistan youtubers asked a girl to rate Asian player's out of 10.

She gave Virat Kohli 10/10 then youtuber asked , how do you rate Babar as both players comparable to each others.

She said " iska Virat se koi compared hi nahi hai. Isly usko 0 deti hu. Hilarious

:klopp :kp

That makes the comparison even dumber
Yeah, how does that make it better? An average batsman having a 2 year peak is being compared to someone who was on top for so many years and just started his decline in end years.

What's the point of such a comparison? Many average batsmen had a good couple of peak years, that doesn't mean you start comparing them with one of the greats of the game.

Ever saw Younis' match-winning double ton at Oval Kiddo? These Covid kids talking about cricket is a menace.
Asian teams have won at the Oval before. Both Rohit and Jaiswal have match winning centuries there. Even SL has won there a few times.

No Asian team has ever won in Edgbaston which England consider their fortress before Gill. And Gill had a match winning double there and another century for good measure.

Gill made tough runs in the England test series. His Gabba innings is better than anything Babar has ever done.
Gill just scored a lot of runs on flat decks in England. It was nothing special. His Gabba inning was good but he has been a FTB as of now and hasn’t played enough quality knocks out of the chances he got.

Flat tracks where England were defeated by 300 runs lol

Kohli also failed in his first over... Comparison is not even possible,, Kohli has achieved much already.. He should just retire peacefully
Kohli is old and is in his last years. Whatever he scores does not matter as he has got his legacy.

Babar in his prime has failed yet again. When Kohli was 31 he was averaging 55 in test cricket with 27 centuries.

Another duck for so-called GOAT who is shamelessly hanging on. Another half ton for Babar in tough conditions.

Lol no.

GOAT has more ICC tournaments than every Pakistani player in history combined.

He is old now. A duck in some meaningless bilateral means nothing.

Babar in his "prime" failed yet again at the age of 31.

Not on flat tracks. India saved Old Trafford.
It’s common on flat tracks too. Edgabaston and Manchester were absolute flat tracks and he batted really well there. But disappointed the way he failed in Lords. Lords and Oval were good pitches, the other three highly batting friendly.
